It's been a long time coming .........

.....but finally I have Block C pieced together.  Only two to go now!!!  You may notice the dog's kennel isn't named yet - there is some debate in our home about which dog's name should be on that kennel - so we'll see who wins that battle.

Apologies for the poor photo, taken in a hurry on a dreary day.  Is anyone else still having issues getting blogger to upload photos at the moment?  It's taken me two days to get this post finished.

I'm loving all those Tis the Season blocks - they are amazing!!

Till next time .................. happy stitching(along) .......Nicky

The slack one is just about there……..

IMG_5978

It has been a very long time since I have made a post….I sort of lost the plot with GJ..

But I have been watching everyone’s progress…and congratulations…WOW…the finished quilts are awesome….

I set myself a goal two weeks ago…to have my quilt completed before GDITC..(12 months ago Chooky, Dale and I decided we would try and complete these quilts for show and tell)….Well Dale finished hers ages ago..Chooky has a finish (is the bind done Chooky)….and I was the slack one..anyway on the weekend I did finish my top…it has been quilted….the bind is on…and I have about 12 inches to sew down on that, so tonight my quilt will be finished……and I have three days to spare….LOL…….

Lots of Blocks for Bec!

This is my LAST stitchery for GJ! I am so excited (and impatient) for it to be almost finished!
I had three blocks finished earlier in the year then I fractured my foot and then worked on stitcheries while I was laid up but didn't piece any blocks together. The other day, just after christmas, I spent half a day piecing all the blocks and was just busting to get the borders on! But I have to get this last stitchery done first.
Sometimes it seemed like I had a mountain of stitchery to complete, and lots of piecing when I able but it is coming together quickly now and I hope to blog a flimsy within the week.....fingers crossed!
love Bec xxx
PS the quilts are looking fantastic!

Block C Gardener's Journal Finished!!

I'm pleased to show you that I have finally finished my Block C of the Gardener's Journal! This house block sure had a lot of stitching in it, didn't it??

The dog house was an absolute joy to stitch after the house block!!

And I'm glad I took Sylvia's suggestion and foundation pieced this wreath block because it was so much easier! And I'm a bit of a fan of foundation piecing anyway!

And so here is the completed block C!! Hooray!! I've nearly completed the stitching for Block H so should hopefully get that put together some time this week! Eventually I will catch up with everyone else!! Thankyou to those of you who have sent messages and prayers while I recuperated from my knee operation too - they are all most appreciated!! I did think I would get more stitching done than I did, but that just didn't happen!! Hope you all have a great week and keep on stitching - these quilts are going to look fantastic when they are all finished!! Thanks again Chookyblue for the inspiration!!

Happy Stitching....

Caught up!

Its a good feeling to finally catch up, and only just in the nick of time before the new month starts!! I have decided that to stay on track, I will have to dedicate one night each week, for just GJ stitching...so will make that every Friday night!!

Watch This Space...

Why?  Because there is a chance of two more blocks by the end of the day...

The tradies have finally packed up their tools, the fence is finished and so is the house stitchery.

Wahoo!!  Put the final stitches in the fence yesterday morning before work...June stitcheries tick!...

and...last night was the night for one of my quilting groups and after a couple of obsessive, "I WILL get this finished before I do anything else!" hours...the garden tools collection was completed...

...add a tick for July stitcheries as well.

Hoping to get the two blocks together later today and add two more to our tally by July's end and two more letters after my name! Yay!!!!

Happy stitching...

Another House in the Village

This is my house.
Those blue borders makes this block a bit darker than the others I made. Must have that in mind when piecing the next ones.

Have you looked at the counter ? We have reached more than 25 % by now.

Enjoying the summer in Denmark.

I'm making progress! :0)

I'm so happy I've been able to keep up with this stitch-along. I've just finished block C. I sort of cheated on this block a bit, or you might say I just made the block my own. I was looking at the roof of the house and thought to myself...what if I only did every other line on the roof? Would it look OK? And then I wondered if it might be OK to just do every other fence post. So that's what I did an I'm really happy with how it came out. I think it looks less busy this way, and it saved me a lot of time stitching too.

And here are blocks C and D sewn together.

And blocks C, D, F and G laid out together. I'm really pleased with how this is starting to look! :0)

Block C

Just a little behind but better late than never, I don't know about you but I find
the most time consuming thing is putting the block together.

Happy Stitching!

That makes me caught up to May.

Block C is underway...
The dog has a house and a pretty rose wreath...

 Building continues...

And when I got bored building the house I digressed to Block H.  Hey!  This one has actually been started in the right month - progress!...

OK, back to building that house...

Happy Stitching Everyone

New batteries needed

Whew the camera batteries have run out, and mine also. I didn't realise how much there was to tracing all those stitcheries. I am more than 1/2 way through and have started on the house, for the second time around. I went to an exhibition of scarves and seeing it is winter I am wistfully looking at the knitting needles and all that soft warm fuzzy wool.

Only just a little bit late !!!!

I agree with you Kris.... where did June go.... I too had the first 2 blocks done on time but not this one, I will have to pull my socks up for this month so enough of this chatter I'm off to the sewing room to draw up the next block.

Keep up the good work girls we will be finished before you can say ..... stitch-a-long......

After each finished block I'm more and more excited with this quilt...

And also with this group;)
With your support it's easy to keep the schedule.
