Just in Time...

Today was a big day in the sewing room finishing off my bag

I do feel a tad guilty for doing the blanket stitch on the machine, but it is so much quicker

I only finished after tea tonight, and so pleased I finished with a day to spare!
Its visits to this blog and seeing all the competed bags that kept me going...and of course the threat of that whip!lol!

You were right Chooky, it takes longer to decide of fabrics than it takes to whip one up! lol! They are just so cute and I think they would also make a perfect little gift bag to hold fabrics etc.

It did hurt to cut into my new Rosies Love Letters fabric...but it was definately worth it in the end!
Now I am off to choose some more fabric to make another one!!

My Finished Quilt...

It is a good feeling to have my quilt all finished! A BIG weekend in my sewing room preparing to quilt, stippling and stitching the binding down has definately been worth it!!! I am so pleased how it turned out.

Backing fabric

Stippling done all around the blocks, done on my domestic machine (I call her my big Husky) I think she deserves a bit of a rest now!lol! After 5 hours of quilting!

It is hard to get a good pic of it all

In the last pic, are all 3 of the quilts I have made in the stitch a long over the last 3 years!

Thank you so much Chooky! It's because of you that I now have these 3 quilts!!!! And thanks to everyone in the group who left comments and posted, which encouraged me to keep going.

I will still be here on the side lines cheering you all on to the finish line!! Lol!

Time to Stipple...

I have spent the morning getting my quilt all ready to stipple....not good on ones back bending over and doing all that pinning!

So next time I post I will have a finished quilt!!! And maybe doing a little happy dance lol!

Bye For Now!

PS The reason I am very keen to finish is because I plan on doing Annies Daisy Quilt, also from her Some Kind of Wonderful book...another beautiful Anni design!!!

Quilt Top!

or very close to a completed quilt top. I just have the strips to sew to the top and bottom and will have it done by the end of the night!

It really is hard to get a good pic...so I placed it on my bed as it's outgrown my design wall. I had intentions of hanging it in a room I am in the process of making over...but it does seem to look quite good where it is!
I am going to start quilting on the weekend, so I will be back to share when it's all quilted!!

Bye For Now!

I am back again!!

It is a good feeling adding a strip to the quilt and seeing it all start come together! You then become eager to do more and more! Not only have I now caught up to May, but have done half of June and both July blocks! The bird and butterfly (July) blocks I did whilst I was in hospital with my son as they were smaller blocks and easier to pack in the bag!
Bye For Now

Edit Just realized that I still have the sun block to do for July block to be completed

My Progress so far...

It feels good to finally add another strip to my quilt...the first one had been lonely for quite some time! Lol! Now I've completed Jan/Feb blocks I am keen to see how the next one will look next to it! I have already completed a few other blocks so hoping that it will start coming together a bit quicker now.

Hard to get a good pic, but here it is on my design wall

Love the daisy! I have finished the 'Best Friends' block also which is another one I love...then there is the shoes...okay I just love them all!lol! The only one I am going to change is the cat block, which I will make into a dog

A few blocks on my sewing desk ready to go for tomorrow!

Hope to be back again soon!

December Blocks Finished

December blocks finished and only a few days late! I am loving doing this quilt...another beautiful Anni design. I am having trouble getting a decent pic being so long and taking it outside wasn't an option beacuse it was quite windy...so I have created a collage of each block

Now I think it really is time for a cuppa! Lol!

December Blocks Progress

I only started on my blocks a few days ago, but as I am doing the blanket stitch on the machine it has come together quite quickly...I have given myself a deadline to finish December blocks before the end of the week.

the suit case is one of my favourites

the international tag I blanket stitched a little further outside the tag so I could see the stitching more...wished I had also done it with the others as I quite like the effect

I will also add a button later instead of stitching one on

I only have the words to do in backstitch on the jeans and tea cup and then I can start piecing together.

Hope to be back soon with my finished December blocks
