Finish in time

I finished my April blocks a few days ago but have had visiters so couldn`t blog. Was wondering if the putting together would come together when I broke a needle on my sewing machine. A piece went inside. After taking apart for cleaning and the vacum doing it`s part I was back on track.

Loving this quilt. So slow today so will sign off.
Thankyou Chookyblue and Kris this is ready when you are to be marked off for April.
Happy Stitching,
Clare.

A bit more progress

I couldn't resist continuing to stitch this lovely block once the applique was done!

Kath's April SKoW

Not to much done this month sadly, but there has been a lot of cutting and preparation let me tell you!! Chookyblue will be delighted! I do have to get stuck in and get them little bitty squares done though and I they will test me a tad, but that is called patience... right? I have been sitting at the dining room table, the sun has been streaming in and it has been so lovely to feel the warm autumn sun on my back.

Here are some blocks all ready to applique....

I love this block, it is going to take a good few sessions to applique all those wee flowers onto that tree, but so worth it.

I have also managed to finish 'Home'

I have also managed to finish 'Home'

and I am working on this block also....

And last night, I did manage to cut out a lot of the squares so I am able to join all the blocks together. I am so looking forward to that, maybe a next weekend job!

Till next time

Kath

April Blocks

Wow I am so slow on posting.  I have had the April blocks done for a week or so!  Above is A tree to sit under and think and below the rainbows block!

All three rows together.  So much fun to see it coming together.  Hard to get it all in the picture.

Please mark me off for April.  Happy Stitching everyone!

Making very slow progress!

I am making very slow progress with my quilt.  Nothing new as I seem to be always in catch up mode!!  Life has a habit of getting in the way with my stitching.  Just wanted you to know that I am still here and love all the work that is being produced by my wonderful fellow stitchers.
I have added a photo of the fabrics that I am using in my quilt.  All of these fabrics I had in my stash.  They were all washed and ready to use.  Life is going to be calmer over the next few months so I plan to post updates more often.  It is great to be back.

April done

I had a bit of time last week and managed to get April's blocks  together and made the strips too.
Then I became very motivated and started the sewing block for May. I am going away in June so hope to get May and June done before I go. My little patchwork blocks aren't very straight but I am not appliquing them again!

Aprils and strips

Strips done! I finished april's blocks... so cute! Love this quilt coming together!

Re embroidering the words

I have been sewing the blocks and not sewn the wording and embroidery . We are going away for a few days and I am getting the wording ready to take along with me.
Does anyone use interfacing at the back of the letters, over the whole block or not at all?-- as I am not sure which would give the best results.
Would appreciate your advice.
Thanks, Yvonne

Quick Question.

Just a quick question. Has anyone tried reverse applique with the windows on the house?

Rainy Saturday Progress on My Favourite Things Quilt

Rainy Saturday here ... so what's a girl to do but sew???   I have finished off the blocks for April ... rainbows after rain !!

Nala is not outside sitting under a tree and thinking (in the rain) ... she is playing inside and trying desperately to get a hold of my quilt!!

And added now to the rest of my quilt and I'm pretty happy with this ... I have added the side borders for May already and might just spend this afternoon getting the May blocks ready for stitching!!  This quilt is addictive!!

Flowers and rainbows...

Last April's block. Now I can sew strips and join to the first two strips... Falled in love with tis quilt!!! And... curisity begins to hurt me about the next stitching along... what are you thinking about, Chooky? So wonderful this team! :)

Please Can I Please.....

..... have a JF.

I know it's a terrible photo but there is no one at home to hold it up properly.
I worked hard on my housework today so I could have some free time for sewing. DH is at the movies with workmates and DS is off with friends. So I'm having my own little sew-in.
Off now to prep the next few blocks.
Only 2 months late now!

SKOW - 5 completed Blocks...

I have spent a bit of time on my lounge
stitching during the school holidays and it has
been nice to get back into my SKOW quilt......
I wish all those blocks were finished.....
After completing the applique for the first row I ironed
on some vilene so I could stitch the words and detail.....
I now have a completed Tea Cup Block....
Patty Cakes Block....
Umbrella Block that I added a bit of extra detail to.....
Yay! Go me! That's 5 completed blocks ready to be joined together.....
Suitcase Block......
This one got out of order.....
Blogger doesn't like me at the moment and
is taking a long time to load photos.....
Maybe because I have neglected him for so long.....
I am now busy working on the second row and
will hopefully join them all together soon....
So there is a bit of progress Chooky.....
I know dismal but getting there....*Grin*
I have other blocks fused and bits stitched but not complete.....
I am all over the place really!
Until next time, Happy Stitching

Kate

Some results at last!

Just a quick post from my own spot (WooHoo!) to show I have the second column together. Nearly a JF. No time today for the joining strip. I'm off to the hairdresser and, boy, do I need it.

I'm Moving Right Along but still behind :(

Hello!  :)

I'm really moving along trying to catch up on my quilt. It's the only project I've been working on the last couple of weeks and yes I'm still having fun with it!  :)

I still haven't gotten the fabric for the border strips and blocks cut yet. :(  I want to be able to sit down and do it all at once. I'm hoping to get the chance to do it this weekend.  :)

In the meantime here's my progress on the blocks for March and April.

Here's the close up of  the house. It reminds me of Dr. Seuss.  :)

A closer look at the gardening block . . . pretty flowers all in a row.  :)

And a closer look at the tree block. I originally had the tree in green with lots of flowers like the pattern called for but I just didn't like it. Then I tried the blue alone. It still wasn't right. Then I added back a few of the flowers from the original one and I liked it. By the way... wouldn't it be cool if cats really were pink?  ;)

And the last one for now . . . the rainbow block. Such happiness!  :)

Here are the next blocks I'll be working on . . .

These should be fun too! Did you notice there's another pink cat? I love pink and I love cats!  :)  Getting these next blocks done will mean I'm ahead of schedule.  :)

Hopefully I'll get that chance to cut the strips and blocks out this weekend and begin sewing the blocks together and forming the quilt top. Then I'll be able to finally get some months checked off by my name.  :)

Until next time . . .

Update from Denmark

Hello stitching girls.
Now I`m finished with my April blocks.
I do not have a cat but a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel dog, called Charlie here is a picture of him.

So course it should not be a cat under the tree but my dog sitting under the tree thinking, I hope you can see it is my dog ;o)

I look forward to the next month sewing blocks.

Have a nice day.
