July's end

Whoops... I nearly forgot to post my bag for July!

I was going to use my pass this month... then visited our new fabric shop ... these fabrics just jumped out at me and said they wanted to be a bag.....so I just HAD to get them.

Here it is...

I also didn't use the penguin stitchery...the fabric had birds, so I just had to go with an appliqué bird from Natalie Bird's Red Home book.

Till next month
Cheers Lea

Another straggler over the line...

Made it, with a couple of hours to spare! I omitted the stitchery and quilting, and I still need to top stitch the top edge and find the right buttons, but it's pretty much done. I used the Bonnie & Camille range 'Scrumptious' for the hexagons, and some other fabrics from their other ranges plus some stash bits and pieces.

I'm thinking I'll use it as a project bag for small portable projects.

Just in Time

With only a few hours to spare I have finished this months project!

I changed the stitchery and left out the word Christmas so this one can be used throughout the year.

I also pieced the back as I wanted to use the yellow paisley but didnt have enough of it.

I just couldn't do it this month... so I'm using one of my PASSes.
I love all the bags being shown but time got the better of me this month!
Sorry Chooky... please place a "P" beside my name for JuLy...

Just made it in time. :)

I don't know why i've left the bag to the past minute as the hexagons & stitchery were ready at the start of July. Lack of mojo i guess but the bag is now done.
I love it.

Happy Stitching,
                           Jeanette

Finished with 1 day to spare.....

I am cutting it fine this month with my Red Home Christmas bag completed last night. I used a different stitchery from the book and have made the bag in Nancy Halvorsen fabrics from a couple of her ranges.
This is my first time at making hexies and although they are not perfect as I can see some of my stitches, I am really happy with how they turned out. It is a cute little bag and am thinking of making another one, slightly larger to fit more in.

Now I'm going to check out our project for August. Till next time.  Happy Stitching everyone.
Hugs Noela.

August comes before July right ??

Sorry Chooky - I have done it again !!!   I finished off my August Some Kind of Wonderful Sewing Case  before July's bag!!  Is that OK??

Bringing up the Rear

Hi everyone,
I always have such good intentions of working on my SAL piece at the beginning of the month but somehow it always ends up as a last minute panic.
My bag is done although it doesn't resemble the original pattern all that much since I made it bigger and used a different stitchery design.
I had a charm pack of La Petite Ecole by French General for Moda so I used that for the hexagons and added a FQ and a half yard of coordinating fabrics.

The stitchery design is by Kathy Schmitz

A panel with the alphabet was used for the inner pocket.

I'm inspired and love all of the beautiful bags on the blog so far.

July SAL

Whoops, just in the nick of time - here is my Tis the Season bag, which was July's project. Must admit to a teenie bit of help on this one. My friend Maria "volunteered" to do the hexagons for me while I was away on hols. But the rest was mine and I do love the bag.
Now next month could be a challenge - zips, ugh.
Cheryl

Whoops ......

You can give me the bad  blogger / sewer award this month.

and mark me of with a big fat

as I haven't even looked at this months project.
I will try to redeem myself and finish it next month but only after I make
next months project.

OK I'm off to sit in the naughty corner!

Sharon :)

A few days to spare....

I've just finished my stitchalong item for July, Natalie Birds Tis the Season bag. I decided to not make mine with a Christmas theme and chose fabrics from my stash. I needle turned a cute house and stitched a little tree.....I also found a little bird button, too cute!

Its a nice bag, the good thing about this stitchalong is that Im making projects I wouldn't have otherwise...thanks Chooky!

July's Project..... Tick!

I have just finished this months project (and in the nick of time!!!)

I have used my favourite French General fabrics and changed the stitchery to a friends initial for an upcoming birthday.  I loved making the hexagon panel and using the buttons to finish off the bag. Another wonderful project... thanks Chookyblue!!! You can cross me off for this month... phew!!!!

July from Susan (oh 2 sew)

What to do with a  charm pack that's not your usual style?? - turn it into a dinky little bag of course.

So I got the squares and had to join some of them...to make a strip long enough.

and then just played.

So Chookyblue, you can mark me off for July - when you are back from retreat of course!
Thanks.

July - Greetings from Finland

Hello, my dear SAL -friends!

During this month I have seen many beautiful Chilly Penguins Bags and also many beautiful variations of it!
As many of us I also decided to stitch another Natalie's stitchery than penguins, although I deeply LOVE penguins. But this time I wanted my bag to be more summery than wintery ;o)

One morning I found my 'little' cat sitting under petunia flowers and then I got the idea to use a cat stitchery from Natalie's Red Home book.

Aren't they both quite cute in the middle of flowers?

Maybe the hardest part of this project was to find a nice lining fabric.

I had many candidates, but after all I chose this Quilt Gate's Mary Rose fabric. The other floral fabrics I found from the Papillon -collection by 3 Sisters.

Well, now it's time to start to think about next project...
it seems more complicated than this bag.

with hugs

SAL 2 for July

Quite proud to show you my second bag for July.
I have stitches a little dog instead of the penguin.

Here are both my bags.

July done!

Here's my bag of July. I made some changes: With the Big Shot I cut the outline of the dog and I did a single handle because'll give to a friend, dog lover

A big hug from hot italy, Emanuela

One small step forward

Had the afternoon off and made the front of my Tis The Season bag.
The shadows are wet spots to remove my blue pen markings.

I made the stitchery a guardian angel instead of the chilly penguins in the book.

July - Done!

My little bag for July.   Not the exact one, since I used a Hexagon Flower on the front pannel.
Its the perfect size to use for my handy crafts. Mostly red and white with  little blue and green spots

JULY

Here's my july project....
somebody socks are growing....
christmas is around the corner and i need to start my gifts....

My May finished!!! :-)

Hello girls, with much delay FINALLY I finished the bag in May :-( Unfortunately, I struggled with the translation. My English is very bad! I added an inside pocket, snap button and, of course, my label. The bag I made with a single handle because for me will be more comfortable to ride my new bike :-) Thank you Chookyblue for your patience.

Greetings from Italy, Emanuela
