Using my pass

Hi there ladies, just popping in to use my pass for the August sewing bag.  The ones I have seen look amazing, but it just isn't going to happen for me now that lambing is under way.  I am still working on my July bag, and hope to change my July status to completed soon....  keep up the great work girls, and thanks to Chookyblue and Susan for pushing us along....... Pincushion(on time too)

Hello again, this is a first for me in a while, to be finished before the end of the month!  I was lucky enough to attend a class last month which was to make this little pincushion, perfectly timed for the Stitch-A-Long timetable, so I did have a little headstart.......

I really loved making this wee cutie...... thanks for looking,

May bag finish

Hi ladies, I am so happy to have finished my bag today, I decided to save some time this(last) month and opted out of the stitchery.

I covered a little button for the back in the bag fabric.

It's been lovely to see the variety of bags finished for May, happy stitching for June everyone.

Catching up on April

This is my rather weak attempt at the April project, I intended to do two single blocks but have only completed one so far.  I did find this sweet little hanger that fits it perfectly, and it was nice to use some of my 'Christmas Fun' fabrics.

Now just one week left of May to get my bag finished.....

It was finished in February.....

Very late last night, with about half an hour to spare I finished off my Red Home tote bag.  Just needed to wait for some time(and the light of day) to take some pics today.....

I've been loving all the beautiful fabric combos people have used for the tote bags, there will be no two bags alike.....

I made a start today on my March pincushion.  The 9 patch ends are pieced and the stitchery is traced ready for me to make a start on tonight.

Happy stitching girls......... Nicky x

Stitchery done, now for the bag

There have been some wonderful bags appearing here recently.  This weekend is going to be full of lots of stitching and sewing and one of the things I want to accomplish is to finish my February Red Home bag.... there are only six more days till the deadline anyway, so it's time I got going!  Here is my stitchery completed, with a couple of changes in the trees and flowers.  This was a really fun stitch and came together a lot quicker than I thought it would.

Happy stitching everyone, I hope you have a lovely weekend stitching too.......

2013 SAL .......here goes......

Hello fellow SAL'ers, I am happy to be joining in with you again, after sitting out the Some Kind of Wonderful quilt.  I have just finished my first Thread Catcher, and I think there will be a few more of these in my future, they really are so quick and easy......

After seeing Chookyblue's decorative stitches, I tried out this heart stitch, something I very rarely use, but I like the way it's turned out.

Happy sewing to you all........... Nicky

Finishing 2012 with a finish

Well girls, finally I can join those of you who have made it onto the finished list for the first Stitch-A-Long.  Here is my version of A Gardener's Journal, stitched and pieced by me and quilted beautifully by Leeanne of quiltmekiwi.

Thanks to Chookyblue and all the Stitch-A-Long girls for the encouragement, motivation, and inspiration that you all share so willingly, you all helped me get over the finish line on this one.  Thanks for the friendship and  fun we've all shared again in 2012......... and I can't wait to see what's in the pipeline for 2013.........

Till next time............ happy stitching............. Nicky  x

Gardener's Journal top together

Hello there, I am long overdue to show you my finished A Gardener's Journal top.  The borders went on way back in January and now I have it booked in for quilting,  I just need to get it on it's way.

I had a wee reminder of the butt-kicking, whip-cracking kind a few days ago that I need to get a wriggle on and get it done!  That same butt-kicking, whip-cracking girl also asked me to mention that today there are ONLY 41 SLEEPS TO GO.  I don't think mine will be back from quilting, but all you clever girls who are working on My Favourite Things will have it all under control by then...... won't you?

Good Luck............. Nicky x

And here it is with all my blocks joined ..... now for some borders and then the quilting!!

By then I might be able to start thinking about My Favourite Things, but I'll be practising some more needleturn applique before then!  Thanks for the encouragement and inspiration in 2011, it was fantastic to finish my Tis the Season quilt (and on time even. lol) and to get this far on AGJ before the end of the year!

Wishing you all a wonderful Christmas ......... see you back here in 2012!

Tis the Season to finish a quilt.........

It was after 11.00 last night when the final stitches were made on the binding ................ nothing like leaving it to the final hour, right?     I am so happy to be finished this quilt, one that I have enjoyed working on along with all the other SAL'ers.  Thanks so much for all the encouragement and to Chookyblue for keeping us all on task.

I found this French General fabric from the Pom Pom de Paris range, and loved the birds that are flying around in the border.

Congratulations to all the girls who are already finished, and I can't wait to see all the others soon.

Take care ............................ and of course, happy stitching ................Nicky

It's been a long time coming .........

.....but finally I have Block C pieced together.  Only two to go now!!!  You may notice the dog's kennel isn't named yet - there is some debate in our home about which dog's name should be on that kennel - so we'll see who wins that battle.

Apologies for the poor photo, taken in a hurry on a dreary day.  Is anyone else still having issues getting blogger to upload photos at the moment?  It's taken me two days to get this post finished.

I'm loving all those Tis the Season blocks - they are amazing!!

Till next time .................. happy stitching(along) .......Nicky

Hello stitching friends, I'm happy to have my April blocks completed..... here is Santa and the Goose and Christmas Reindeer.

These blocks are just so much fun and I love that they are so quick to do.  I'll be back soon with my very late next Gardeners Journal block.

Happy stitching to all the TTS stitchers and to the like me, late Gardener's Journal girls!

I heard Chookyblue cracking the whip ............

......... which was perfect timing as here are my first 2 finished blocks, hot off the press this afternoon.

And just when she was about to give up on me, I've also been piecing the centre block of A Gardener's Journal.  I'll be back with a pic of that before the end of the month - promise!

It's been wonderful seeing all the blocks finished so far - you are all doing an amazing job - and I look forward to seeing all the rest soon.

Happy stitching .................................. Nicky    http://farmgirlstitching.blogspot.com/

Two at once .........

Hi all, I'm so pleased to be joining in with the 2011 SAL, though I'm still (rather slowly!) working on A Gardeners Journal.   Here is my latest AGJ block, six down, three to go - maybe I could have two quilts finished by the end of September - famous last words maybe??
I haven't decided if I will add the hearts to this block or just leave it as is.

Being such a keen starter, I stitched up the first block of Tis the Season this week.  I've loved seeing all the different fabric choices everyone has made.  Here is what I'm going with, pinks and reds by French General.  I'm stitching with variegated DMC 115.

After reading a lot of posts about how tight it is to get the border centred in the finished block, I think I'll make my centre blocks 1/2" bigger than the original design.
Thanks for looking, happy stitching everyone!
