Finally i am making some progress on my Quilt
The label is on
i used a little bit of the border fabric to border my label
the quilt is under the needle and the quilting has been started
all the centre blocks have been quilted
i have sketched up the quilting design and now
just need to be brave
and drop the feed dogs
and do the free motion quilting . . . .
it always scares the willy's out of me dropping the feed dogs
but the only way i am going to learn is
practice practice practice
so wish me luck girls

I look forward to see the complete quilt!
I have finised stitching 2 blocks now, so I am way behind, but, I hope to get to it soon (o: Wonderful to be inspired by so many people.
I have yet to try the free motion quilting on anything for real...it is scary. I started quilting mine yesterday and should finish it this weekend.
I love the red check fabric.

Take the free motion quilting on! You're right, practice is how you improve, so take every opportunity! Your quilt is looking great!
go for it.........it's not too big a quilt to attempt........
Yep - I am with you - free motion is not really my thing - but I know I have to practice and Chookyblue is right - its a reasonable size to work on. (I have heard that a needle plate that is designed for straight stitching only really helps - I have found that to be true even for straight line quilting). But often I use the decorative stiches on my machine to quilt. (Cheating I know) Good Luck
