On Track...

At last...I'm on track with the timetable...wahoo!!!

Block C for June...

Block H for July...

and with an hour to go before August kicks in!  Yay!!!

Happy Stitching....

Annette

Block C done - only a month late.

I have finished block C. I've never sewn a 'square in a square' block before. I am going to have to practise these a bit more to get those points right.
That's a bit of a strange dog in the above block! I'm going to dedicate this quilt to my maternal line. I'll explain that more later, but none of them were really dog lovers. They may have had dogs on the farms, but not when they got to town. They had chooks though.
I should have July's block finished tomorrow. My eyes are just too tired tonight. I've already made a boo boo with the violet wreath. I've got it off centre. I may see how much it annoys me and I might do it again.

Caught up!

Its a good feeling to finally catch up, and only just in the nick of time before the new month starts!! I have decided that to stay on track, I will have to dedicate one night each week, for just GJ stitching...so will make that every Friday night!!

Puts hand up sheepishly...........

Pardon me lovely ladies, but I just wanted to say what a wonderful job you have all been doing on your blocks.
And just so you don't all think I have dropped off the stitch-a-long, here is a pic of the stitcheries I have done so far. I am way behind but I don't mind as I have been slowly progressing at my own slow pace LOL.
I have completed the stitcheries for the first 2 blocks and the next lot is ready to go, including that huge house!!

Watch This Space...

Why?  Because there is a chance of two more blocks by the end of the day...

The tradies have finally packed up their tools, the fence is finished and so is the house stitchery.

Wahoo!!  Put the final stitches in the fence yesterday morning before work...June stitcheries tick!...

and...last night was the night for one of my quilting groups and after a couple of obsessive, "I WILL get this finished before I do anything else!" hours...the garden tools collection was completed...

...add a tick for July stitcheries as well.

Hoping to get the two blocks together later today and add two more to our tally by July's end and two more letters after my name! Yay!!!!

Happy stitching...

Finally up to date with Block H

Yay!

I am finally up-to-date.  I just finished piecing my block H tonight.

This is the first time I have finished my block on time.   I am already busy stitching my next block.
I am having so much fun with this!  I can't wait to get my next block pieced.

It is so hot here that gardening has been almost impossible during the day, so stitching has taken over!!!

Doing the hand jive

Oh my goodness what a month it has been.  Not being someone that gets ill often when sickness does hit me it usually really hits and hangs around for quite some time and this time it's just like that.
A few weeks ago I got diagnosed with pleurisy, hey give me the pills and let me get on with my life.  If only that had been the case, steroids were issued to try and overcome the awful associated cough.  Unfortunately the steroids had a wee bit of a side effect and as a result I can't sew at my machine, you see my legs (that were never skinny to begin with) have swollen so much that some of the skin has split and I can't get into even the sloppiest of slippers.
So, what was I to do? I mean I have sewing commitments and Gardeners Journal is just one of them.  Well, here is what I have done, all of the stitcheries.  These will just have to do until I am able to use my feet and legs like normal - sorry Chooky it's the best I can do this month.
I hope the rest of you are having more success at the machine.
hugs
Miche'le

Another block finished !!!!!

Hello all .... well I have another block finished .... woohooooo...... this is so good to be on target and with all this motivation from Chooky and all of the GJ girls its been easy to do..... so keep up the good work girls, its lovely to see so many blocks done.

Andrea

Another House in the Village

This is my house.
Those blue borders makes this block a bit darker than the others I made. Must have that in mind when piecing the next ones.

Have you looked at the counter ? We have reached more than 25 % by now.

Enjoying the summer in Denmark.

June I and July G Blocks by Dale

Here are my June and July blocks, I have had a few interruptions since middle of June, Iwent to the Hunter Valley to play golf for 5 days, then it was school holidays and a visit from 4 grandchildren, then we took them back to Sydney. I am so pleased to be back on track and I am drawing up my August stitchery today.

My second block…

IMG_3902

Sorry….if a strange post comes up on your Bloglines….for Stitch A Long…I was doing several posts for several blogs and sent one here by mistake….

This is my second block, getting lots of stitching done……I need to get to the sewing machine to put some more together…..take care Peg  ….:>)

I'm making progress! :0)

I'm so happy I've been able to keep up with this stitch-along. I've just finished block C. I sort of cheated on this block a bit, or you might say I just made the block my own. I was looking at the roof of the house and thought to myself...what if I only did every other line on the roof? Would it look OK? And then I wondered if it might be OK to just do every other fence post. So that's what I did an I'm really happy with how it came out. I think it looks less busy this way, and it saved me a lot of time stitching too.

And here are blocks C and D sewn together.

And blocks C, D, F and G laid out together. I'm really pleased with how this is starting to look! :0)

We're All Going On A ... Err ... Winter ... Holiday!

I've been humming a Cliff Richard song for the last few days ...

"We're all going on a Summer Holiday, no more working for a week or two ..."

I know, I know ... it's WINTER here in Australia, but the song got stuck in my head! And then I worked it out ... it's SUMMER in the UK where the movie this song came from was set!!! :0) OK ... so now that that VERY important issue was settled ... it was time for me to prepare for MY holiday. (Sorry Chookyblue, just had to get in one more little boast about it! Tee! Hee! Hee!)

Now, while we're planning to do lots of things and see lots of family and friends, I REALLY want to get caught up with my "Gardener's Journal" stitching cos an unexpected magazine commission put me WAY behind where I thought I would be by now. So yesterday afternoon, in the depths of my sewing room, I got tracing ...

The blocks for July and August all traced off, plus I still have to build Woof the dog his dog house from June's block. You can see I really have some catching up to do. But that's OK, cos ...

"We're all going on a ... WINTER ... holiday!" :0)

See you when I get back and happy stitching to you all. Til next time ...

Just for you Chookyblue :)

A "G" block before the end of July, right?

Here's mine all done. I think the sprinkler is one of my favourite blocks...it reminds me of the long hot summer afternoons of my childhood.

But then, the little birds are sweet too, aren't they?

Thanks so much for letting me get involved in this Stitch-A-Long...I am loving seeing everyones progress, and check in most days to see where you are all up to :)
Have a great day!

So Far Behind

Here it is almost the end of July and I haven't even finished June's blocks......I have done the doghouse and 3/4 of the house though.

I thought I would get back into it tonight while I watch Masterdhef but I can't find my threads anywhere, so I guess I will have to wait until tomorrow night to continue after I buy some more.

I will definately have to get my skates on to catch up and hopefully by the end of August I will be back on track.

Love seeing what everyone is doing, all are looking fabulous.

A stitch-a-long Day Out.

On Tuesday Kayly and I decided to go on an adventure and visit some other stitch-a-long members . I knew that Teresa and Helen visited Tereasa's shop on Tuesdays so we decided that that was the perfect time to visit. Kayly, Tereasa and I were even stitching our Gardener's Journal. As Helen and Teresa didn't know we were going to be there, we will forgive them for not bringing thier Gardener's Journal stitcheries this time but maybe we will visit again later and post some more progress photos.
We thought that you might all like to see us hard at work stitching.

While we were there we were able to see Teresa's beautiful Girl's Day Out Quilt - do go and check out the photos on her blog.

Is there anybody else out there getting together? Post a photo if you do!

I now have some borders

I'm very excited I now have some borders.  While I was cutting and sewing them together I still wasn't sure about the colours, but now its growing on me.  I quite like the colours now.  Its very different for the other two I have made.  This is so out of my comfort zone.  Nice to try different things.

Cheers Kez

Just had to share...'coz I got a little excited when I realised...

The house is built!  Certificate of Occupancy has been issued and the landscaper is now undertaking garden beautification works...Wahoo!

The fencer is lined up to put the fence up as soon as the landscaper is finished.

Thank you for the lovely comments on my last post...I forgot to leave a comment so that I would get messages to my in-box and my stupid internet connection has been so sloooowww that blog hopping and leaving comments has become too painful to bear so please accept a group thanks...and I will be back to hopping when it picks up speed again...it really is motivating to have the support of the group :).

Happy stitching!

Block C update.

Just a quick note to say, I have just this very minute put the last stitch in on the ones needed for June. I'm deciding whether to stop and make block C or keep stitching and make June and July blocks together. Whatever! Right now I had better catch up on the house things I've been neglecting while sewing!

Block A - Gardener Journal

I have finally finished block A stitcheries.  Hope to get some boarders complete this weekend.  Hope to catch up to everyone.  Have a great weekend

Cheers  Kez

Block C is finally finished

Here is my block C.  It took quite a lot of time stitching the house block but it is done and I am so happy with it. Here it is better late than never!

I have traced the stitcheries for the next block and and am off to enjoy some more stitching time! Thanks to everyone for all their support to keep us going on this journey!

Lori, Leaskdale, Ontario, Canada

Two more blocks--completed!

This one is rather large!
Block F for September
Block D for August
Since I'm doing G over, I still have 3 to go...I have two more pieces of stitching to do...I've really enjoyed this project.
Lee, do you see your fabric in these two blocks? Check out the butterfly in the first one..I wish I could find a source for this fabric...I love it.
Since I began this, I feel quite lost if I don't have a piece of stitchery to do while sitting in the evening....Lee was good enough to send me some patterns so I know what project I am doing next...The months of the year, Sunbonnet Sue.
Happy Stitching, my friends...I want to see lots more blocks in the next couple of weeks.
