Needlebook Finished.

Here are some photos of my Anni Downs needle book. All finished except for the button. In my button box, I have a collection of all sorts of buttons so it is hard to believe I can't find one the right colour or size for this. Will have to buy one when I next go to the shops.

Now to work on my August bag and hopefully finish that soon so I can clean my 2013 slate by having finished all the projects.
A BIG THANK YOU to Chooky and Susan for keeping us in check over the last few months. I have enjoyed being a part of this 2013 SAL.
Hugs Noela.

Need pass for August.

Sorry Chooky and Susan but I didn't get my bag finished at my retreat this last weekend so will need a pass. Will try to finish the bag along with the needle case this month. Have been looking at all the great bags that have been finished so well done everyone.

Finished with 1 day to spare.....

I am cutting it fine this month with my Red Home Christmas bag completed last night. I used a different stitchery from the book and have made the bag in Nancy Halvorsen fabrics from a couple of her ranges.
This is my first time at making hexies and although they are not perfect as I can see some of my stitches, I am really happy with how they turned out. It is a cute little bag and am thinking of making another one, slightly larger to fit more in.

Now I'm going to check out our project for August. Till next time.  Happy Stitching everyone.
Hugs Noela.

June Pin Cushion.

I am having trouble with my Internet so am going to just do a quick post to show that I have finished my pin cushion for June. Am really happy with how it turned out. I used blanket stitch applique instead of needle turn and had a piece of fabric with small hexies on it so used that for one panel.
I quilted around the hexies  and then backstitched around just one in red embroidery thread.

I had a few more photos to show but it has taken me 15 minutes to download these three so I'm going to quit while I'm ahead. Mark me off as completed for June please Chooky.

Finish for May.

Here are a few photos of my SKOW bag for this month.  Have been doing lots of stitchery of late so decided that I wouldn't do it for this bag. After seeing all the other lovely stitchery bags, I am a bit disappointed I didn't, but am still happy with how mine turned out. I decided it looked a bit plain so tonight made a Suffolk puff and added a couple of buttons to the front.

I added a pocket to the inside as well and didn't make the slit in the back.
Well Chooky, can you please mark me off as completed for May, now onto the Red Home pin cushion.
Bye for now.......  Noela.........

My Bon Noel is finished.

I have had the stitcheries done for a couple of weeks but had a few other things to finish before I could put them together.  I decided that I too would go for the long version as this suits where I want to hang at Xmas.
For the stitcheries I used a Cottage Garden thread called Blue Wren and chose some Nancy Halvorsen blue fabrics from my stash.
Mark me off for April please Chooky.

Block G finished at last.

Well it's been a bit of a struggle but I have at last completed my first block for the Stitch-A-Long. I have just had a new kitchen installed so my stitching projects have had to wait for a few weeks while I tried to get that sorted. I found the stitchery part enjoyable to do but must admit, all that cutting out took me a lot longer than I had anticipated, anyway it is done now so hopefully I will be able to catch up and complete the next 2 blocks by the end of June. Here is a photo of my block.

I was a bit concerned when stitching the embroidery that the background fabric was a bit dark and the embroidery detail would be lost, but after making up the block, am quite happy with how it looks.

Bye till next time

Noela.

My first post.

Well here I am at last making my first post for the Stitch-Along. My name is Noela, I live in S-E Queensland and I have been quilting for a number of years. I love incorporating stitching in my quilts and so was drawn to Anni's A Gardener's Journal quilt as soon as I saw it. I too, like many of you, have had my book, fabrics and threads for a long time. They have been hiding among my stash of fabrics and UFO's. I am so glad I discovered this blog and was not too late to join in. I have prepared my first two stitcheries and have just started to stitch them today. I am adding a photo of the fabrics and threads that I will be using. The tea-stained fabric in the front is the fabric I am using for my stitcheries.

I look forward to seeing every-one's blocks as they are finished. Bye for now.........Noela
