February Complete
I chose Cottage Garden threads for the embroderiory used in February blocks. The colours I selected are:-
1201 Snapdragon
503 Peacock
1001 Red Carnation
605 Cherry Blossom
710 Farmers Market.
This was my first time undertaking needle turn appliqué, once I got the hang of it, I began to relax a little. Though it requires vast improvement, I am reasonablely happy with the blocks.
Now to get rady for work. Hugs Sharon

January, pattern, shopping and February prepped.
I was sure I had posted these photos back in mid January when I took off on my holiday, but perhaps I didn't. I got in and prepped January's stitchery. And I was lucky enough to have my pattern arrive before I left as well.
With my main fabrics taken from my drawer of saving for a special project. I've decided on 2 Riley Blake designs and I'm still not sure about the little moda roll.
Once in Melbourne the stitching and the shopping for backgrounds began, after about 7 different shops. Yes Chooky I shopped well for all these luscious backgrounds.
I then finished my January stitching. I'm thinking it will be a runner, but saving that completion for another day. I squeezed in a couple of runners as well, teaching a friend how to quilt and bind.
Just a days shopping...this was Milrose cottage in. Ballan Victoria. What an amazing place
And then there was today's, rest and recovery, I've come home from my holiday 2 days ago and spent the best part of it resting from flu like symptoms, today, I've watched 2 movies and managed to apliquick all my January prices ready for a sewing night next week. Feeling accomplished.

A Start!
First had to decide which background fabrics were going where - that did take some time - felt like hours! - and then the cutting started...
with different fabrics being labeled and ...yes, there is no number 1 - not sure if I'm going to use the one I had planned or maybe look for another one .... am still thinking about it - and it's not one I needed for Part 1.....

Done - 10.50pm
I cut most of the fabric this morning before work, finished off the stitchery during lunch at work and then did the applique hearts and made the bag tonight. No fancy photo shoot.

February Tote Bag
Life continues to be hectic, but its amazing what even 30 minutes of stitching a day can accomplish. Would like to get the bag finished this weekend? Maybe.
Been fabulous seeing all the other finishes. Some stunning fabrics. Inspiring me to keep going.

February - one bag complete another on the cutting table
OK, so I noticed on my last post my changes didn't go unnoticed by our chooky, i am so hoping that i don't get smacked, but more changes in the finished item as well.
I know, that February is supposed to be from Red Home by Natalie Bird, but I had purchased the Natalie Lymers pattern to make a friend, because we stitch and drink tea together so the saying was perfect. But neither of us need another sewing keep it all, but well what girl doesn't need another tote bag? I loved the pockets and panels of the tote bag, but I also liked my bag I made last month with the gusset. so yes you'll notice another change. :)
I course I said neither of us needed another sewing bag, yep keeping with my make two motto when giving homemade away, I've traced off two stitcheries.
As I was gift giving on the 13th February, there was no mucking around so I have completed one so far the other is in my hoop still. But all pieces are cut ready to go.
If only I could stop crocheting and get stitching.
Almost 2 completed and I'm happy!

February stitching
I've modified my project this month to include one of Natalie Lymers patterns on my bag - it's coming along nicely!
Sitting in air conditioned comfort today.
Another hope quilt awaits binding too!
