Progress report

It's starting to look a bit like a quilt.....

Nine blocks down and only three to go...and only six months to Christmas! LOL...did that scare you? hee hee
Here are some close up pics of my blocks...

I think I may have strayed from the programmed order...not quite sure how that happened, but it really won't matter in the end :)

How tempting is it to whip through the last few blocks and have it all finished? I know I'm tempted.... :)

Waiting on the Postie...

Look what I ordered yesterday from "Lynette Anderson Designs".....
Pay Pal was playing up so I called directly and was greeted
on the phone by none other than Lynette herself.....
This is a Fat 8th bundle of all 25 of her new range of fabric
 "Scandinavian Christmas"
The pic doesn't do it justice, I will post a better one when it arrives...
It is not available in Australia yet but
Lynette has a limited amount to sell....
I was very excited when I found it on her blog
because I want to use it to make "Tis The Season"...
And it was an added bonus that I got to have a lovely chat with Lynette.....
I will need to order some more for the borders
later when it is available in shops.....

After it arrives I will have to get busy....
Until next time. Happy Stitching

Waa Hoooooo.

I'm so sorry it's taken so long and I have completed other projects and this little ole flimsy has sat for ages waiting to be quilted, so while the weather has been absolutely crap awful I finally pulled my finger out, along with all my basting gear and got 'Tis The Season' finished.  I didn't follow the 'piecing' instructions and chose to do the sashings in just the two fabrics while adding a small red pleat as the first border.
This little project has been refreshingly simple to do so now I'm ready for the next SAL (did you hear that Chookyblue?).
I hope you are all able to make the most of this wet Winter that has decided to join us.
hugs
Miche'le

Nearly there now ...................

Thanks to Chookyblue for the "encouragement" here is my Block F.

Almost there now, one left to go............... now I need to get this months TTS blocks done before I get behind on that one too. lol

Happy stitching girls.................Nicky

Catching Up Time

Well I have to confess my plans to take my TTS on our trip didn't happen
I left it on my sewing table in the rush to get out the door the day we left
I only realised what I had done when I went back to the car
before we sailed to get it and couldn't find it.

Now we are home I have been so busy with the last few days
of school holidays, birthays, the girlies social lives and then getting
them back to school today.

I did make it in my sewing room today to finish a project that has been
waiting for months to be done, found a few other UFO's including
TTS and I have vowed to start nothing new until my UFO's are done
and TTS is up to date....which should be soon as they
are so little and are quick to stitch.

A Little Sad....

.... At first I was concerned that I wouldn't keep up with all the commitments in my life, but, now that we're 3/4 done, I don't want it to end :) Glad Chooky is already brainstorming the next project!

Here's block #9 for me (can't tell here, but it is square). The sashing will make more sense when you see it with the other blocks.

Happy Stitching!

Jytte's Gardener's Journal + Tis the Season

My friend Jytte in Denmark joined the GJ SAL when we started it.........Jytte doesn't have her own blog but she joined in and blogged to the SAL blog as part of the group..............
When I finished up the GJ SAL and moved onto the TTS SAL Jytte said she would not continue as she didn't want to sew a Christmas project. But she promised to send me pics of her GJ once she finished it..............
TAAAAADAAAAA..............gorgeous isn't it...............well done Jytte and thanks heaps for being part of the GJ SAL............all hand quilted.............
but wait there's more..............now remember I just said she she wasn't doing the TTS SAL................
BUT
she saw the book in a patchwork shop in Denmark and HAD to buy it and start the quilt............
she just needs to add the borders...............
it looks great Jytte............
This is what Jytte said she is working on now
"My next quilting project is 'My Garden' from Lynette Anderson' and I have bought the 'Christmas Fun' BOM also, so there will be more Christmas.
I am completely crazy with hexagon flowers and for the time being I sew the quilt from Vignette with stitchery on 59 blocks."
Well all I can say is well done Jytte and thanks so much for keeping your promise and sharing pics of your finished A Gardener's Journal.

June Blocks

It has been a hard to get these blocks completed as for the past four weeks I have been helping my son pack up his house. Scott and my grandson have moved in with us for a while so today I was finally able to get back into my quilting room and stitch on the borders of the above blocks for June. It was so lovely to have some 'me' time at last.

We leave for 3 weeks holiday in the US on Wednesday so I have traced the last three blocks to stitch while I'm away. I'm hoping to visit lots of quilt shops whilst I'm there and pick up loads of bargains. With only one day to go and all our hard work behind us, I am finally getting excited.

Bye for now

Noela

Another Couple Stitched...

Christmas Wreath and Santa's Boots stitched...
I think the wee mice are very cute.   Not all that sure about the wreath stitchery, think it may become the label, it just seems out of place with the other designs.

That just leaves Partridge in a Pear Tree which is started and Here Comes Santa...almost there with the stitcheries...

Happy Stitching...
Annette

Sewed 1st row together

I have just sewed my 1st row together and i am pleased ,cant sew the 2nd row together yet as i am redoing the angel block and i have only sewn 2 for the 3rd row, so i am slowly getting there and it is such a fun project to do.

June Blocks Completed

It's a long weekend for most states here in Australia and I have a bit of a sewing list to get through. These are first to be crossed off the list.

Please add number 8 & 9 blocks to my list thanks Donna

Now I'm not sure that these are the actual blocks for June but two more are completed

This is a photo of my 9 completed blocks.

I'm not sure this is how they will stay.

I might swap them all around when I have them all completed.

June blocks done and dusted.....

I've finally managed to finish my June blocks in-between uni assignments and work.I'm loveing how they're coming together and I love seeing all the variations with colours.I may just have to make another one in another colourway....but not just yet, maybe over the Christmas break from uni.I've already traced out July's blocks ready to work on over the Uni holidays coming up so I don't fall behind.
