Jytte's Gardener's Journal + Tis the Season

My friend Jytte in Denmark joined the GJ SAL when we started it.........Jytte doesn't have her own blog but she joined in and blogged to the SAL blog as part of the group..............
When I finished up the GJ SAL and moved onto the TTS SAL Jytte said she would not continue as she didn't want to sew a Christmas project. But she promised to send me pics of her GJ once she finished it..............
TAAAAADAAAAA..............gorgeous isn't it...............well done Jytte and thanks heaps for being part of the GJ SAL............all hand quilted.............
but wait there's more..............now remember I just said she she wasn't doing the TTS SAL................
BUT
she saw the book in a patchwork shop in Denmark and HAD to buy it and start the quilt............
she just needs to add the borders...............
it looks great Jytte............
This is what Jytte said she is working on now
"My next quilting project is 'My Garden' from Lynette Anderson' and I have bought the 'Christmas Fun' BOM also, so there will be more Christmas.
I am completely crazy with hexagon flowers and for the time being I sew the quilt from Vignette with stitchery on 59 blocks."
Well all I can say is well done Jytte and thanks so much for keeping your promise and sharing pics of your finished A Gardener's Journal.

MY TOP

Today is a great day. I have finished my top. It is so unreal and I am so happy.
After 8 month I am sitting here with my finished top and it would never have gone so fast without this SAL blog and kind help and inspirations from a lot of stitching friends.
This quilt will be a little bigger than I expected but the result is what I have hoped for.
When I made the border yesterday it came to my mind that the book does not have a pattern for a label and I like to make a special label very suitable to this quilt.
Does anyone have a good idea or know where I can find a suitable label.
After this point I think there will come a feeling of emptiness but I have no reason for resting on my laurels.
Further on with QUILTING.
Happy New Year to all and have a good stitching year.

The last block!!!

I have finally finished my block I and I love this block.
I don't know why, but these 3 lovely ladies look so good and I have enjoyed every minute stitching them.
After Christmas I will sew all blocks together and hopefully I will very soon be able to show you the finished top.
The quilting is coming closer and closer and for me it is not the best part of making a quilt but I am sure I will find a way.
Up till now it has been a very, very cold winter with lots of snow in Denmark.
The landscape looks like a fairytale, very suitable for Christmas.
I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year hopefully with lots of time for stitching.

The F BLOCK a pleasure

The stitchery of this month has given me so much pleasure.
Resting in the garden with a cup of tea and a stitchery in my hand is a fantastic combination.
Slowly it is getting cold and dark in the evenings and that gives me more time at the sewing machine and I can finish the blocks.
It is great to see all of your blocks coming up and the finished quilts too. I have three blocks more to go and the stitchery on the next one is almost done.
I do not feel comfortable with quilting and I am already thinking about how to do that. By hand or by sewing machine. When I reach that point I need help from friends.
But for now happy stitching and have a good weekend.

NO PLACE LIKE HOME is done.

I am so happy to show to you my block C.
That stitchery was a big job but I had plenty of time to do it.
Instead of having a busy month May we went to Spain for a 3 weeks holiday (it is summer in Europe).
I sat in the shadow of a palmtree doing all these lines.
Line up and line down. I am glad my fabrics have a lot of flowers.
The stitchery on this block C was really a test of my patience but now I am ready for the next block and hopefully Fiona is right saying 'quick and easy'.
Happy stitching

Tulips Blooming ---

both on my block and in my garden.
Here comes my block A. I have had so much fun making it. This is my second block and I am happy with it. Putting the fabrics together was much easier than the G block. All fabrics were cut and all decisions were made.
I am so satisfied having done this block because this month May will be very busy for me, but hopefully I will find some time for stitching.
Happy stitching to all

A long long Journey

My husband and I went for a short trip to Brussels in Belgium and had a wonderful stay there.
We planned to fly back home to Denmark on Thursday last week but because of the vulcano ash from Iceland spreading all over the northern part of Europe a flight time of 1 hour 35 min transformed into a 3 days train journey with so many problems that I think I could write a book about it.
We are safe back home and I am on the right track again bound for stitching.
It is so wonderful to see all the stitcheries and blocks so many of you have made the last 10 days and imagine how I will enjoy sitting with my block A again.

Block G finished and a Block Keeper

For my stitching it has been a good Easter. It has been rather windy and a cold rain in between.
It became a hard job to make this block G. I laid out the fabrics and found out that there were too many stripes, so I had to change two fabrics. After that I got it all sewed together and the first block is done.
I know that it will take half a year or more before all the blocks are ready to be sewed together, so I made a block keeper too. I have seen a tutorial at Teresa's blog 'All Vintage Things' and have wished to make it for a long time so now it should be. Thank you to her.

No return

I have today cut 390 small pieces of fabrics for my quilt and am happy with that. Now I can concentrate on the stitchery and look very much forward to sit in the sun and stitch. Yes, it has become spring in Denmark and I hope for many good summerdays to come.

I am very happy to join a-stitch-along for the first time. When I saw this one I knew, it was now.

I had already started on A Gardener's Journal. I had the book for a year or so and I bought the fabric 'Garden Song' by Nancy Halvorsen in January at Fabric Shack in USA. This month I started on drawing which really takes time, but I am still a little ahead.

Sorry I don't have a blog, but hopefully this will bring me closer to start one.
