My quilt is finished - jippi

So, finally, my "Tis the Season"-quilt is finished. I'm really happy and satisfied. It has been very nice to make a whole quilt this way. Much easier to follow up, when so many others also make the same product. And there are so many gorgeous, finished quilts out there.

Thanks to all of you for letting me be part of this project, and a great thank you to Chookyblue, who make this come true.

Maybe I will join in some other time too!

Here is a more close up picture with some of the stitcheries. In the middle I have made my initials and the year this quilt is made. If I should forget it in the future.

finally, the last 2 blocks.....

Then are my 2 last blocks finished. Now I'm going to finish it. I have the fabrics for the borders, but I have to buy backing. May be next week???

When I look around in the blog now, there are so many quilts that are finished. They all look gorgeous all of them.

July blocks done!!

This month I have been in a hurry. It is summer holiday here in Norway, and I wanted to finish my 2 blocks before I'm going to my cabin in the southern part of Norway. Hopefully we will get some nice weather. Now the rain is pouring down.....

Break!

I must admit, I've had a long break from stitching TTS and  from blogging. In May all my stitcheries were done. I put them in a box and kind of forgot (ignored) them. Yesterday I decided it was time to continue...

This is made from stash fabrics alone, and now I have to find a nice borderfabric - or two.

Now my June blocks are finished. I'm a bit earlier this month.  Look forward to make the quilt. I love this small stitcheries so much.
I also see so many other lovely blocks with so different colours. That would make all the quilts different.

Jytte's Gardener's Journal + Tis the Season

My friend Jytte in Denmark joined the GJ SAL when we started it.........Jytte doesn't have her own blog but she joined in and blogged to the SAL blog as part of the group..............

When I finished up the GJ SAL and moved onto the TTS SAL Jytte said she would not continue as she didn't want to sew a Christmas project. But she promised to send me pics of her GJ once she finished it..............

TAAAAADAAAAA..............gorgeous isn't it...............well done Jytte and thanks heaps for being part of the GJ SAL............all hand quilted.............

but wait there's more..............now remember I just said she she wasn't doing the TTS SAL................

BUT

she saw the book in a patchwork shop in Denmark and HAD to buy it and start the quilt............

she just needs to add the borders...............

This is what Jytte said she is working on now

"My next quilting project is 'My Garden' from Lynette Anderson' and I have bought the 'Christmas Fun' BOM also, so there will be more Christmas.

I am completely crazy with hexagon flowers and for the time being I sew the quilt from Vignette with stitchery on 59 blocks."

Well all I can say is well done Jytte and thanks so much for keeping your promise and sharing pics of your finished A Gardener's Journal.

Jippi. I have finished my 2 blocks for April. Now I will start on quilt nr. 2, for my daughter.  She want the same Christmas quilt in her new house.

I love to stitch these small pictures. They are just georgeous.

where did March go...............finally I have the pics...........3 finished March blocks.............

they would have different borders but I tidied up somethings and put the bundle of fabrics away.................hmmmmm now I have to go searching to find them...........

sorry about the crooked pics..............need to rinse them to wash out the blue marker but they are done and I am very happy about that..............

I made it!!

Finally, 1 day before end of March I managed to finish my 3 blocks.  I have an idea that I will make 2 quilts at the same time, but I'm a little behind with the other one. May be I can catch up later.  I really enjoy stitching them and look forward to the next month.

A Flurry of Posts!

So many posts this weekend! Must be getting close to the end of the month! I am really enjoying ALL of your posts. (How Chookyblue keeps up with it all I don't know. She is amazing! Thank you Chookyblue.) Just to prove that I am actually doing this stitch-a-long I thought I had better show you a photo.

These little stitcheries are such fun! As you can see I am still stitching my second. I will get these three stitched and start stitching April's, but turning them into blocks will not happen till April because I am going away. No sewing machine, but hopefully lots of stitching will be done! (I will update you by email Chookyblue at the end of the month as to my progress) Keep stitching girls!

Mission almost accomplished!

So much for focussing on finishing my Gardener's Journal and I've only got two blocks to go. I've been sidetracked by Tis the Season. I've been doing the stitcheries for the past three weeks at nights because I'm enjoying stitching with one colour! Yesterday was my rostered day off and in between painting I managed to stitch the borders on and join the blocks together and here it is...

So now this little distraction is mostly out the way I might be able to focus back on my Gardener's Journal!

I think I have found my fabrics!!

After some discussion with myself, I think I have made the right decision about my fabrics for the quilt. I have 4 dark red and 4 light with diff. pattern in red/pink. I'm not sure of these light ones. May be I can find some a bit darker when I'm going to the Quilting annual meeting next weekend.
As you can see I have finished 1,5 stitchery. I love the motives.

Finally my book has arrived.

I'm in this Stitch A Long for the first time. I have not found my fabrics yet, but finally I received my book a few days ago, and have started making the stitcheries. Hopefully I will catch up with you all later this month og in April. Then I hopefully will have all my fabrics ready too.  Untill then, have fun everybody. Greetings from Anne Lise in Norway.
