July blocks done!!

This month I have been in a hurry. It is summer holiday here in Norway, and I wanted to finish my 2 blocks before I'm going to my cabin in the southern part of Norway. Hopefully we will get some nice weather. Now the rain is pouring down.....

good morning girls :)

i am done with the stitchery, cant believe it... was an hard job :) since each stitchery is 6 and 1/2", each block is 14".
i changed most of the already sewed sashing because i was not satisfied with the french general and other colours mix, i prefer this:

here in Milano we have almost 40 degrees, Celsius, I have  air conditioning but i am not in the mood to add batting, backing and quilt it. I hate summer in the city. let's see if august will be better...

I just wanted to show you what Helen, Tereasa and I got up to this week. Instead of working on our TTS stitcheries, we made another project out of the book....
The Christmas Joy Scrapbook Album.

I have now finished my album and all the pages. It was fun to make and quite easy.

I've filled mine with photos from last Christmas. What a lovely way to keep your photos and memories.

Zero to 12...

in 100 minutes...

...stitcheries ironed, trimmed, layout chosen, border strips allocated, P-faff chain stitching production line put into place and ta dah!...12 finished blocks...the 13th stitchery, the wreath block, is put aside as the label.

So that would be 12 for me please Mrs Chooky :)

July blocks finished!!

Well I finally finished my July blocks before my uni holidays finished wooo hoooo.I couldn't resist putting the blocks together to see how they'd look,just two more blocks and I can start to put the top together.......11 done and dusted for me Chooky :) Barb.

Final Blocks & The Seal of Approval

Today I did the machine sewing on my final three blocks.

I was all so excited by finishing my blocks that I put them together too. The 12 blocks I left on the couch ready for the borders, hopefully on Sunday. You would think I sew with catnip flavoured thread, the speed that cats find my sewing in this house. At least this fun project now has the approval of my darling old Brutus cat. Where did I put that defluffing brush???

June blocks...a little late

Here are my June blocks. They had been stitched in time but needed the borders. Hopefully I can be on time with this month's blocks!

I have sewn all the blocks together and i am very pleased with this project and i am so glad that i joined this stitch along,thankyou Chooky.
Now i just need to find some fabric for the borders.

June Blocks & Other Pretty Things...

After 2 weeks without my usual laptop & then getting it back from the repairers completely wiped & with a new, hopefully non-faulty hard drive I am back and slowly trying to reinstall software, find email addresses, recreate favourites & now catch up on some blogging. They are such wonderful machines - when they work.

So here are my blocks I did finish in June;

And I have finally done something with my 4.5 inch reject blocks. I'm not totally happy with it & will replace the little sprig of holly when I find something just right to go in those spaces. I also did the little Christmas cover for my cat hanger but think he needs a bow on his tail too to be truly festive.

I also made one of the small pillow which turned out gorgous, great little gift;

The last 3 stitcheries have been done in the last few nights & are awaiting their borders. At last a project that I am confident will be completed, not just the stitcheries done & then in the box with the other orphans to await a much later finish. Already looking forward to the next SAL!

I finished!

so happy, I finally attached the bindings to this quilt last week, actually maybe even the week before, and it has been hanging around for several weeks before I got to putting on the binding!
Can't wait to start the next one, must order Anni's new book then..BUT I want to clear a few things off my unfinished list first...

Hi Girls!
I have now finished my Tis the Season top! It came together very quick - all done in one night! The stitchery background I used is a tone on tone from the Luna Notte range. The stitchery does not seem to show up as good in the pics.....

I have a week off work this week, so might get it basted ready for hand quilting in cream Perle thread......

Chooky, you can now mark me off for my blocks :o)

Only a little bit late.

I'm only a little bit late but I guess its best to be late than not at all, the end is not too far away and it really has gone so quickly..... its great to see so many lovely blocks and in such different colour ways.... keep up the good work girls.

apologies for not posting.

I am running way behind with this project and it is lovely to see so many finished tops etc, and the progress of everyone's stitching.  I was using a "handdyed" cotton, and even though I have only done 4 completed squares, one of the "hand dyed" cottons with a bit of moisture on, has bled into the fabric, so I feel it is best to start again.  I will get there, but have a few other "on the go committments" of stiching for others at the moment - so will get back to it soon, and will have to start again.

12 & 13...

Finally, after what seems live forever, I have put the final backstitch into the 13th stitchery...so 12 and 13 done...

and that's it for the stitcheries...on to block construction when I get back from Adelaide...

"Tis the Season" Started!

I am now on Holidays for 2 weeks so I got

to cut up my new fabric yesterday.....

After some chopping and changing I settled on this layout

for "Tis the Season"

All redy to sew the borders on and then I will trace the stitchery designs onto each block......There didn't seem to be a lot of room around the stitching so I have opted to do it this way....

Even the scraps look yummy all piled up!

June Blocks PHEW!

Just got these finished late last night. 

These blocks are just so darn cute and fun to stitch.  Laid out the quilt last night and I love it!  On to more stitching.
