I AM DONE---
Well--only for the March blocks--
it took alot of chocolate--
and some new thread--
but here is what I ended up with for my first three blocks--
Ahhh--'Di' you were going to use all red thread and all red fabrics--right???
Ahhhh--yes she was "going tooo"--
but--
she kept watching this 'station' and seeing all the variegated threads in the reds and greens so she went shopping--online--!!!
she found a new line to her called "Threadworx"--it is an overdyed floss--
and the name of this is "Christmas time"--sooooo!!!!
She ordered a skein and it works up lovely--
I ordered from 123stitch.com
and they are really fast in mailing out the orders--
they also have other lines of thread!!!
Ok--I got my first three done--
Is it April yet for the next set!!!!
Hugs, Di from quiltingisblissful.blogstop.com
Bon Noel Block
It's lovely to see the finished blocks being posted in a variety of colours.
I have been coming home from work and sitting and resting this painful knee, knee hasn't improved but my stitching has resulted in a finished block,

GOOD NIGHT OR GOOD MORNING?
Ciao to all :)
here in Italy it's 11.20, i think it will be a nice, relaxing week-end dedicated to stitchery and patch.
here is my first block, I enlarged the stitchery to 6,5" and the stripes to 2,5".
making some math, border included, it will be about 170 x 190 cm.
my colours
and these wonderful fabrics for the borders. i found them in my favourite shop here in Milano.
hugs to all
Kokina
p.s. thanks for this wonderful blog Chooky :) I am having a lot of fun stitching this project (^..^)
Block 1
Fabric Choices
With fabric & thread selected it was time to make a start. Last night saw me trace & begin the first stitchery. I decided to keep it simple & just use two fabrics for the stitchery borders...or I'd probably still be at the fabric shop....LOL!!
Hope you all having a great weekend.
Cheers....Jane.
Hello...
just thought I would pop in and say how lovely all of the stitcheries are looking, I have traced mine but yet to stitch, also loving all of the different combination's of fabric
Joining in ...
... I am finally organised enough, to share that I am also joining in the stitching fun. Some of my bits only arrived in the mail yesterday!
I'm going to be using Pom Pom de Paris by French General - the cream one on the left is my inner border fabric, am going to add a FG red and cream dot ... think I may use a pink floral for the outer border ... will make that choice as I stitch.
For the stitchery I am using Cosmo Multi-thread... it is a 2 strand thread on a reel ... no splitting thread, just cut and thread on my needle ... should stitch exactly like stranded Cosmo thread. After I have stitched block, I will share what I think of multi-thread.
Happy stitching, Perri
March Stitching.....
March actually has 3 stitcheries............there are 13 different stitcheries............she only uses 12 in the quilt...........but if you all keen stitch another one and try one of the projects........

FIRST TWO BLOCKS COMPLETED
Thready to stitch .......
Getting Organized!
I have really enjoyed seeing what fabrics you ladies have chosen for tis the season...it does get exciting when we start playing with fabrics! I will be tracing my stitcheries today and start stitching tonight!
I needed to get organized first and have used my Gardeners Journal project binder to keep everything in. Handy having everything together. Inside pocket holds the little book and list of stitcheries for each month. Plastic sleeves for any completed stitcheries or blocks, threads etc. Have considered making another binder using a stitchery from the book...will see how I go!
My Christmas present to me this year was the Tis The Season book, and the first project I made was the little scrapbook album...still yet to be filled!
My fabric choice...apricots and reds!
Looking forward to stitching along with you all!
Bye For Now

Kind Guild Friend
Monday I received an E-mail from a member of my guild telling me that I could borrow her pattern for Tis The Season by Natalie Bird, until the pattern I ordered comes. And yesterday it came in the mail. Isn't she great. So this weekend I'm tracing the stitcheries for March and start stitching so I can keep up with everyone. I havn't chosen fabrick yet, but I am using DMC thread no. 115.
Have a great weekend

Hello Girls...
Hello!
Would write a little presentation of myself:) My name is Marica and owns the blog Enlgating and live in northern Sweden. I've had this hobby for about 8 years and fabric stash with all "ufp" seems to only grow higher.
Has complied with the first round Stitch-a-long project and now that it would be a new so I thought I jump on. This weekend, I thought that boot up with to draw up all the blocks and then I think that the fabrics will be having may be something from my fabrics. But right now it is not firmly decided yet .. The only thing I know is that I will use my DMC fg221 then we see where it goes on ..
Good luck!
Marica

To be or not to be
After having a good long think about this size thing with our little blocks, I've decided that I really want the running stitch to be an equal part of the stitchery and if I trim the blocks to 4 1/2" that doesn't happen, so I've decided to make them half an inch larger. I don't think it will alter the overall look of the wall hanging - what do you think?

March Blocks
I am finding it very hard to believe that on the 4th of the month I have finished my 2 blocks & not just the stitcheries which is my usual habit. I have also done the piecing so the blocks are completely finished. Loving the results!
One thing I learnt is when you trim your stitchery blocks back to 4.5 inches, you have to be very accurate with the cutting. A couple of millimetres one way or the other & the stitched outline can disappear into your 1/4 inch seam. I'm not sure I am happy with the bottom block for this reason so the quick unpick may have a job to do soon because it is niggling at me.
I red dots fabric I wasn't sure about has found it's place & I'm happy with it now.
Happy stitching

I've decided on my fabric!
Hi Everyone! I'm so far behind in reading the posts! I really need to catch up!!
I finally decided on my fabric this week, and only just got the time to take a photo a little bit ago. I've chosen Nature's Gift by Deb Strain for Moda Fabrics. There's heaps there to choose from and it's so gorgeous! You never know how wonderful a bundle of fabric is until you open it up and have a good look! *grin*

Ready to start this weekend!!!
After becoming a late (but very happy) member of this Stitch-A-Long, I have finally dug through my stash and picked my favourite fabrics. They turned out to be colours other than traditional reds and greens, so I have decided to go with a different colour scheme for my project. Christmas is a time of the year I love and I think that should mean that I have the colours I also love around me. That said, here are my choices of fabrics ....
I'll be interested to see how differently this will look compared to some of the beautiful fabrics other people have chosen for theirs. I will have to start adding to my red stash because I found that I really didn't have a lot of choice ... but that is an excuse to fabric shop, and who could argue with that?!!
Have a great weekend everyone :-)

Its Finished!!!
Just wanted you to see a close up of the binding that you all helped me pick out, it looks great doesn't it?
A peak at the back, label and hanging sleeve. That corner looks bad but it isn't, trust me.
Okay, Chooky Blue, I want it to say finished on the sidebar.

Pink and Mint
My book arrived just in time!!
I have chosen to go with some 'oldie' fabrics
that I have held onto for quite sometime;
just waiting for the perfect project.
I think I've found it!!
The far right light pink will be my background.
I ordered some floss from an Etsy shop.
It is hand dyed and hand painted.
I think this green will look nice on the pink background.
I am not afraid of it bleeding;
I've hand dyed fabric using the same process.
She sure has has pretty colors.

I have the stitcheries done for the block with the Orchard trees, hopefully will get that done on the weekend.
Not a good photo - taken on my phone.

Finally I'm on my way..
I've finally chosen my fabrics after much deliberation. I love the pinks and reds used by Natalie but have far too much xmas fabric going unused, not to mention far too many fabric purchases of late (hubby bringing home some from the USA on the weekend - can't wait!). I purchased some Kate spain, 12 days of xmas and really love this choice now.
I was a bit stumped as to my thread choice but think I will go with DMC816. I am hoping to get the stitcheries traced ready for sleep school next week! One whole week with no cleaning nor cooking! I'm hoping my son will do everything he is supposed to so I can stitch to my hearts content. Happy stitching everyone!

So organised and then !!!!!
This is the 1st time that i have been so organised and keeping ahead ,i have all the stitcherys traced out and the separate blocks sewn together so i was already to start stitching.
So of i went to my local shops to get my verigated green and red thread only to find that not 1 of them had it,i wanted to use what Annette had shown us, she was using needle necessities 1301,which i think will look good with my colourings, damn.
I am in geelong next week so will try there 2 patchwork shops .
cheers shez

Blocks & Fabrics
Hi, my name is Jeanette.
I traced out my blocks back in January ready to start & have since embroidered 3.
Well that wasn't a good photo. Just realised i cut off part of a block. :(
I was also looking for the right fabrics & was beginning to despair when someone mentioned getting a kit from Tereasa. The kit arrived today.
Gorgeous fabrics for me to play with.

Bec's Quilt Finished
My Gardeners Journal quilt is finished and I am so pleased!
If it wasn't for the Stitch-a-Long this quilt would still be sitting in a box shoved up the back of the cupboard.
Many Thanks to Dale, Peg and Chooky for starting this.
Many Thanks to Chooky for organising us and running the blog.
Many Thanks to everyone involved for the encouragement and inspiration.
It has been more than fantastic to see work on all the quilts, so many and so varied!
I won't be joining in with the next stitch-a-long project as I have a number of other UFOs to work on, but will be watching; it is a lovely quilt.
