Done!!!

I just love my SKofW!!! Bright and cheerfull!

Right from the start I decided, that this quilt should be my testquilt for back basting. I had only tried it for a single heart, and thought this would be a great opportunity to get to know the technique very well . And I love it! 

I have doodle quilted around all the applique motifs and then tried to quilt flowers, hearts and leaves like shown in the book. All by free hand - I love quilting!

Finally, I want to thank Chookyblue for the enormous work keeping all us ladies busy. And I look forward to another challenge! 

Keep up the good work ladies - it is worth it!

Ready to quilt!

Now I'm ready to quilt! I have made a pieced backing of some lovely orange fabrics and a panel from my FQ bundle. To be honest, I have looked forward to this from the beginning - I LOVE to quilt!

Shortcut - the long way!

When I first saw this blok, I knew I had to add some Ric Rac to the pincushion. I love Ric Rac!

At the time I was ready to make the rainbow most of my fabrics were cut into pieces! 

So I took a shortcut and used even more Ric Rac.

But having added Ric Rac to more than one blok, I simply had to add it to several 

(already finished) blocks... and my shortcut ended up being a detour.

But I love the look of it!

Miss May!

Miss May is the name of our cat - and of this cat too of course! I must write it somewhere on this block!

Slowly but persistent - I'm getting there! Most blocks are ready to be pressed and squared up.  Just need to (start and) finish chair, butterfly, shoes and Miss May, and I'm ready to roll!

 Well, I still haven't any strip pieced, but look at this -

 All these tiny squares are put together and ready to use!

I'm still here!

I must admit.

I haven't got a single panel ready yet,

but it doesn't mean, that I'm not working on this lovely projekt!

Lots of blocks just waiting for panels!

Yesterday I decided to start using my sewing machine for this projekt too.
For a nice beginning I made the three small blocks for det "Sewing Block".

I then decided to make a small tutorial to show you all,

how I made the blocks ready for appliqué easely.

When I had my blocks all made up, I did like this...

First I made a line of stitches 1/4" away from the edge using a stitch lenght 3.

  

Just like this.

Then I folded the fabris right at the stitches - nice and easy.

Finally I gave it a nice firm press using starch.

Remember to press from the front - you have to be able to see, what you are doing!

(Don´t ask me how I know!!!)

Remove the stitches.

Thats it!

Now I'm ready to use a bit of Roxanne Glue-Baste-It and appliqué my blocks in place! 

Maybe tonight in front of the telly?

If there is something You don't understand, I'm sure google translat is to blame... or not?

Can't get started...

For some reason I can't get started in my SKofW. I have cut all my bagground fabrics, marked the first four bloks for back basting, and still nothing happens... So I thought, I would show you another SKofW projekt I made this summer.

This was unfortunately not for me - maybe I should make a bag just for me too?

Or maybe I just have to stop talking and instead pull myself together and get started???!!!

My SKofW fabrics!

I decided to take a good look in my stash and look what I found. A lovely FQ bundle of "Fresh" by Deb Stain (moda). I love these happy colors and hope they will bring my quilt a touch of summer!

Ready for Christmas!!!

I just love my new christmas decoration!

I decided to add a wider border simply because I love the red rose fabric!

From the beginning I had planned to quilt lines by hand, but I ended up making swirls, loops, waves and a wide feather in the roseborder... on machine.

Most of my fabrics af scraps/stash - so is the backing.

I will be back soon with my SKOFW fabrics

- and pics of the other projects form this lovely book, I´ve allready made!

Break!

I must admit, I've had a long break from stitching TTS and  from blogging. In May all my stitcheries were done. I put them in a box and kind of forgot (ignored) them. Yesterday I decided it was time to continue...

This is made from stash fabrics alone, and now I have to find a nice borderfabric - or two.

The other day, when I cut my fabrics, I ended up having a lot of 1½" scrap squares. Now I have a redwork projekt bag instead!
