March completed.

Here's the March blocks. All trimming will be done when it is time to sew. I suppose that I should say all ironing will be done then too.

April blocks are coming soon.

April Progress

Hi ladies, I am making slow progress this month as I pulled a back muscle and have not felt like doing much. I am however working slowly on this months blocks. Pics to follow soon of the finished month I hope.

April Progress

Two thirds of the way through April and the blanket stitching is completed. I also have all the little applique pieces cut ready for needle turning.

I find it interesting to see how some ladies do the blanket stitching first and then add the appliques while others attach the applique pieces first and then stitch around them.  I'm curious to know if it is purely a preference thing or is there a benefit in one over the other?

Just realized I still need to make some stems so off to put the kettle on and play with some more scraps.

Natures Journey Part Three

This weekend I finished part three of Natures Journey.

I am loving using the iron on appliqué paper and the appliquick tools.

My blocks are slowly improving. Chooky please mark me off the sidebar as being finished.

April Done - Susan Oh2Sew

What??? It's only the 19th April and I'm done??? - Whoopee for me!

Sorry, the picture is a bit wonky - like its owner...I looked at the "bees"  but they are just not me - so its hexies for this month...I'm still thinking about the dragon fly too...

and I have a head start on May - this is the first block I made...when I first got the pattern.

I saw an option on my Phone Camera to take a "Negative" shot...so I did ...unfortunately it highlights glitches in my chain stitch but I loved the colour effect.

Now onto some of my other "To Do's", "WIPs" "new projects" etc etc

Happy sewing everyone - keep posting your progress - even if it's only a block or two - it helps to keep everyone motivated.

Mark me off for March!

Better late than never, as they say ..... that's what I'm saying anyway! March blocks finished.

There seem to be quite a few finishes for April already! I have done most of the borders, will make a start on the applique this weekend so I'm not ducking and weaving the whip again at the end of the month.

Am loving seeing all your progress girls.

April blocks done.

I made sure i was organised this month & not leave it to the last minute to do the blocks like i did in March.
Happy Stitching,

April At Chooky's

So ....you think your all getting the whip cracked ..... I am at Chooky's this weekend and I am sewing let me tell you...there is some pressure to do April's blocks .  This is what I have done so far..  I have all blocks cut out ... its so much easier to get "cracking" once all pieces are cut out.

I am working on it!

I am working on my blocks, although I'm doing all the embroidery first.  Since I was so late in getting the pattern I started out behind, then I couldn't decide on fabric.  I'm hoping in the next two weeks to be all caught up and on time with everyone else.  I love seeing what fabrics everyone is using, what inspiration!

Happy Stitching!!  --Kristen

Whip cracked.....

Chooky has been cracking the whip and it's spurred me into action ..... February done and March almost finished.... photos to come tomorrow.......

Thank you Chooky for giving me a push

April is done....

No last minute stitching this month :) Go girls - you can do it!!! xxx

Behind but still here!

...and if it wasn't for the group's goal of being a motivator, then I wouldn't be this far.  I am quiet but love seeing what everyone is doing and how they are doing it!

I am playing in my scraps and enjoying the process of making my appliques.  I hope to be on time for April because the "whip" hurts.

April Progress SusanOh2 Sew

I'm progressing well with my blocks for April...making a few design changes as I go...and these may not all be final blocks for April..but here they are anyway....

Its really great to see all the variations, fabric selections and progress.
Keep it up girls!

April's progression...

Almost finished April...love the applique...not so much the button-hole stitching.  I find it a bit tricky getting it even and not all slanted and uneven.  What is the secret to getting these stitches even and straight?
I enjoy seeing everyone's blocks with all the different fabric/color variations.  My hat goes off to those who have really stepped outside of the box and done a completely different color scheme.
Love them all.  It will be quite a show when they are all done.  Happy Stitching Ladies!
I think the square is from May's assignment but here is what happened...I stitched all the circles, big and small for March then decided I would place all my blocks on my design board to make sure I had the backgrounds evenly distributed...and they were a bit lop-sided.  So the block that needs my little circle (fleur-de-lis) calls for a square...hence the square is being done in April versus May.  Well that's my story and I'm stickin' to it! LOL

April ♥

Blocs of april are done !

I love them.
Here in France, sping is coming with sunshine and lovely flowers
