Finally catching up

No photos - but hopefully by the end of this week there will be.  I've been making the tiniest pieces of progress.  I've been following everyone else's progress.  Hardly even time to comment.  Sewing and teenagers seem to be a harder gig to combine that sewing and toddlers.  Or maybe mine are just more of a challenge!

Anyway, we are finally heading north to our property in Central Queensland.  7 days of relaxing and sewing.  Just have to get hubby organised to install our combustion stove (keep things nice and snug).

I'm hoping to be up to date by Sunday - well thats to the June blocks anyway.  July BOM hasn't arrived yet.

Only another 90 minutes of travel and I'm in holiday mode already!

I am still here and have mostly caught up!

I have had a little hiatis from blogging but Nature's Journey has always been on my mind.  It is so nice to see everyone's version of the pattern! I will comment this week and get caught up on everyone's progress.  I have completed the prep work for the applique and am now taking the time to applique...between training for marathons and getting as much of Canada's short summer as I can I take the quiet moments to applique. Yay for prep work!

Here are my parts 3, 4 and 5.  I am still playing with the stems.  For part 5 I am happy with them because I went back and mad the stems ON THE BIAS ;).

I like that the project is so portable!  I can't wait to put all these blocks together! Such fun! Happy Sewing everyone!

April and May completed

What a saga my last two projects were!

I finished the three stitcheries for the April project in March. Then I lost thepattern. Then I found the pattern. Then I lost the stitcheries. I've searched and searched for them. To no avail. Thought about doing them again, but then couldn't find the pattern.

I have a bit of an excuse - the builders were here fixing the damage to the house from the fire we had on New Years Eve. So a whole rom had to be packed and cleaned out as the fire had damaged the wall and floor.

May came along. A busy month. My 6 monthly scrap booking retreat was on and my second son was a partner in a debutante ball. So slightly busier than usual in our house hold.

This week, I was back to sorting my craft out so that I can get some organisation back into the new room and my craft room - which was used as a storage room while the builders were here. I was packing away the latest BoM package I'd received in the mail and here was the stitcheries. Yay!!

This was my prompt to get going and get up to date with the monthly projects. So yesterday, I put together the mini wall hanging and made the bag. I've bought linen to make onenwith the stitchery but realised that this was going to be unrealisitic. So for now, I've taken the option of making the bag without the stitchery. It's a lovely pattern and a nice little bag.

Here are the pictures:

The Stitchery.
The bag.

Not great photos. But I decided it was more important to write the blog and post the oictures than to get the best photos.

So, Chooky, can you mark me off for April and May. I'll make a start on the June project this weekend.

Cheers

Marg

April..... Tick!

I just love seeing everyone's version of this months project.
I can't believe how different the same piece can look by using different colours and fabrics.
They're wonderful!
This is my version of the little Christmas wallhanging.
I just love the little stitcheries... it was difficult to decide on which three to use.
Happy Stitching everyone!!!

Tis Done!

Hi everyone,

Here's my April project all done and dusted almost two weeks before the deadline.
I decided to make my banner long and skinny by turning everything on its side. This was so that it could hang in various small spaces.

What a fun little project.
I love all the finished banners I'm seeing on the blog. Congratulations to everyone who has finished April so far.

April project

Today I took advantage of the sale at Nellies Patchwork Shop. They have 40% off a wide range of fabrics.

I bought my fabric for my Bon Noel Wallhanging. Now I only have to cut and sew it all together.
