Finally, some progress ...

It has been ages since I collected everything together for this project, but I have finally gotten a good start on it!!  My first block (cupcakes) was pathetic ... using a needle turn technique I really wasn't familiar with, and didn't find natural at all ... plus, the appliqué pieces came out off centre enough that it was obvious ... not good - will do that block again later.

I have, however, completed the umbrella, cup of tea, and holiday blocks over the last week.  I was almost finished the umbrella (cup of tea was done) when I got Chooky's email, and I was intending to put up a post, but I was wanting to get the holiday block done too ... I prepared the pieces, positioned and stitched the suitcase on Saturday night, positioning (with appliqué glue) that night, before finishing off the appliqué at church on Sunday morning.  The embroidery (words) were done over the last few days ... took longer than I thought.

I am hoping to get the chocolates, daisy and jeans blocks done over the next week .. this weekend I need to sandwich and quilt two quilts for Aussie Hero Quilts.  I also need to get some appropriate fabric for the jeans block ... want some 'jeans'/denim looking quilting fabric from the LQS along with the quilting thread.

I may be way behind, but I am going to try to catch back up so I am finishing with you all!!

My humble beginnings!

Finally I can show a couple of blocks I have done for the Some Kind Of Wonderful SAL. I was starting to think I would never get started but Chooky....I have! Here are 3 blocks and I have 3 others done but the wording just needs stitching.
It can only be full steam ahead from now on :)

On to the next ones...
hugs to all
