August done - Yay !!!

This is such a cute little sewing case, and I am very happy with how it looks.  The lining fabric worked well too.

  

If I make another one I will do a few things differently - and I will also read the pattern fully without distractions but at least the things I misread still turned out well in the end.  

The best thing is there are still a few days to go before end of month - I did wonder if I would be a bit late this time with all the other things going on, but so pleased to have met the deadline. 

I've finished too.

It seems like a few of us have finished or blogged about our March finish, this weekend.  This is such a cute pin cushion.  I may just make another one, but maybe not this month.

I put a circle of Stitch and Shape in the base of it (rolled it and poked it through the hole after turning the pin cushion the right way.)  It gives a bit flatter base which I was wanting.  I also used the bear stuffing beans inside(in a piece of stocking) and then pin cushion wadding around the beans.

This was a good choice of project, lovely embroidery, good sized bag, measurements worked perfectly, and very enjoyable to make.

I chose 2 of the Life is Beautiful (Helen Stubbings) fabrics, and matched with other fabrics from my stash.  I also put the button on it for a closure.  I had meant to put the button on the front, but sewed the closure onto that side and had finished off the seam before I realised.  I could change it but.......  will wait and see.  And as I always do, I put pockets inside.

Thread catcher addiction

These gorgeous little thread catchers - they sure are addictive, as many of you have said.

 These are my first 2.  A regular sized one on the right, and a baby half size one on the left.

Then -  Because Susan mentioned matching - I decided to make another to match one of my pin cushions, which also matches my sewing machine cover.  I had just enough ricrac left over to put around the top of it as well.
