This stitchalong....

.... has been so much fun......
(well they all are but I did enjoy making the other smaller projects in the books)

I chose not to piece the fabric for the front and used some sewing themed fabric ....... 

the stitching is done in Cottage Garden Thread "Cranberry" .... 

... some felted blanket wool for the needle patch....

... I was delighted to find a perfect button which matched the fabric and just did a little plaited rope to wind round the button ....

This bag is perfect....

I loved all the different parts to this project - a little stitchery, some hexagons, some piecing, some quilting.... a lot of fun... just perfect

... and the perfect size....

 

Pincushion......s

I wasn't too sure how I would go with the mini hexagons and mini needleturn so I did a practice one 

... and then another for a birthday gift

... the same but different....

..... almost twins.....

 ... but not quite....

I love that there is so much to see on these really quite little pincushions

May bag ....

I did so enjoy this months SAL project - I love linen and I love stitchery and I love bags......

The stitchery took the longest to do.. but it was a lot of fun...

I used a bargain piece of raw linen that I found...

... and sewed with Pearl 8 - Canna from Cottage Garden threads.... I loved using the Pearl with the bit of sheen and of course no splitting of threads..... it is the equivalent of 3 threads and so was great for this project on the courser linen.... 

Righto, Gotto Go.... I'm a bit nervous about those 1/2" hexies for next month !!!!

Little wallhanging....

I loved doing this months project

and am loving seeing all the different versions of it

... there is a little bit of hand quilting around the edges of mine .....

and I found a little rusty hanger and added little rusty bells onto the ends of the prairie points....

... did you know it's 8 months till Christmas?.....

Pretty little pincushions.....

These are such cute little pincushions .....

..... I made one some time ago but I had forgotten just how dinky they are ....

.... it is so fun seeing all the different ones

Kris's tip HERE was great as I wanted to add some weight in the pincushion - I used stuffing beads and then polyester stuffing on the top .....

Is everyone ready to get the Wallhanging done?

What a great project for our Stitchalong

I'm a bit cross with myself as I didn't do the satin stitching of the hearts on the trees and the flower heads

I just got too excited to make the bag 

... the back....

I was surprised how lovely and big it is

.... will hold lots of fabric ....

Meeting deadlines.....

I have so enjoyed stitching along this quilt with all of you .... and to avoid some snaps of the whip from the special Chookyblue  it is best to keep up with the set deadlines!!!

.... I have loved stitching each of the blocks......

..... and making the backing from leftover fabrics ......

.... I just gotta have a picture of the quilt in a tree...

Thanks Chookyblue  for the inspiration to do this quilt and and everyone in the group for the motivation and encouragement to keep up with it..... I love it.....
