1st SAL.....Peg, Dale and I committed to stitching Anni Downs - A Gardener's Journal in March. I blogged about this on my blog thinking maybe one or 2 others may join us and lots of girls indicated an interest so I decided to start this blog where we can all encourage each other to meet the goals set along the way....March 2010 -March 2011...........
2nd SAL ......well so many of the girls wanted to continue on with another project and some new girls joined us and now approx 91 girls are stitching Natalie Bird's Tis the Season. March to Sept 2011...............
3rd SAL....many girls want to stick with the SAL so now we have moved onto Anni Downs Some Kind of Wonderful - My Favourite Things Quilt.......Oct 2011-Oct 2012.........
Where are we now.....
4th SAL 2013...is numerous smaller projects from the previous 2 books Tis the Season and Some Kind of Wonderful plus some projects from Red Home by Natalie Bird approx 60 ladies stitching together.........

5th SAL 2015..........inspired to continue we are doing another quilt project.....Anni Downs newest quilt Natures Journey.....
6th SAL 2017.............A Holly Cottage Christmas by Michelle Ridgway.......once again the pattern is in an affordable book so it is easy for everyone to join in...........and you can raid your stash for the fabrics........or lash out and buy a the whole lot........this SAL will be run by Fiona aka Bubz Rugz and Raewyn........

SKofW final summary.........

Wow what an effort from the girls..............some late nighters last night..........
CONGRATULATIONS SAL GIRLS
you have done such a great job..........
summarising the last few days
while we haven't gained any more tops over the last few days we have got 4 finished..................
congrats Holly, Cherise, Me and KateS
I wiped a couple more girls off the list.............we lost about 10-12 along the way...........some pulling out because life changed, some just disappeared and never replied to my emails, some who knows what BUT
the final tally is about this............
61 girls
19 FINISHED
12 tops
30 girls in various stages............I do hope you all get to the top stage girls as the quilt is wonderful and you will be so happy once you achieve this...........please don't stop now cause you have got to the end of October............
I have been thinking about another SAL...............I have a idea.............
one thing I can say is that if your not at the top stage by the time I start the next one if it goes ahead you won't be able to start...........
&&&
One thing I am so excited about it that all the Gardener's Journal girls who have remained in the SAL have got to the top stage..........congrats to Lynda and Noela who were the last girls to work on their SAL tops as they made this deadline too..........
&&&
thanks for making the SAL what it is............
some SAL stats
we are 15 posts short of 2000 posts
 we have left (I have read ) 12939 comments
we have 405 followers
about 150-250 visitors each day..........
So this is where you will find me......resting from all the whip cracking
Thanks Susan and KrisP for your help thru the year
.......I will keep an eye on the blog but only update weekly............

Have a well earned rest Chooky. The stitch-a-long is a great idea and I enjoy being in it immensely but we don't want to wear you out!!!! Thanks so much for all your hard work!

You're definitely due a rest after all the wonderful encouragement and blog work - thank you for that, I wouldn't have a finished top without it. I'm looking forward to my quilt coming home from the quilter soon so that I can get it bound and hanging on the wall. Will look forward to hearing your 2013 plan once you've had your well deserved break :)

Chookyblue,
Thank you for all you have done and the encouragement you have given over the three quilts. I have been part of two of them and I love that I am now to the final stage of my GJ quilt and have a Tis the Season quilt to hang on my wall at Xmas. Hugs.....
