So I initially thought I would make a candle mat but I then changed my mind to a little wall hanging.
I was really happy with it as it was done using scraps. Scraps of thread, batting pieces sewn together, left over strips from my Tis the Season quilt, and left over binding. Oh and two bits of backing fabric sewn together.
I went through a large part of my stash and decided on a pink and green theme for my Nature's Journey quilt - relatively in tune with natural colours. (or so I think now).
My intention is to incorporate these beautiful scraps (below), given to me by Aunty. Such delicate and pretty fabrics. She is a gifted sewer and wonderful person. She has lived alone in the country for ten years and I periodically send her photos of my projects with an explanation on the back of the photographs. Sadly she has just gone in to palliative care the other day.
So more fabric in the tub to choose from.
Hoping to prep my first couple of blocks tonight.
Happy Stitching All
Susie
