Thank you so much Chooky and Peg who are the inspiration for doing this
and also thank you to all the fellow stitchers out there for all the support and encouragement along the way in getting this quilt finally completed....
I have thoroughly enjoyed doing my Gardener's Journal and I will bring it up to Nundle next year to show it off.....

Progress & Problems

I started the stitchery part of my needlecase a few weeks back...I decided to make it in the same colours as the Natalie Bird pincushion since I liked it so much...(even though at the beginning of the year I cut out another set of fabrics for this project....)

I wasn't sure I would have enough thread but I thought - "No worries - its still on the web site I can order more...", so I stitched away - and ran out of thread.  Tried a local supplier who were going to see if they could order it in for me....still waiting to hear from them so its not likely I will be purchasing from them...Ordered some from a Sydney supplier - who was away so couldn't send it til last Monday - it arrived on Wednesday...BUT it is totally different - to both my old skein and the image on the web site . . . .

Poop . . .now I'm stuck until I can find something that resembles the original lot.
I will make the needle case over the weekend, but for now it will have to be missing the front "heart" -

You can see what I've stitched, the scraps from my sewing and the skein I received.

If any one has any Dinky Dyes 6 stranded cotton in a blend of dark purple, teal green and ochre - can you either let me know if it says #124 Freo - or something else in case I got the number wrong....or if you are prepared to sell it to me - let me know . . . .

MY NEEDLE CASE

The inside of my needle case. I have managed to put needles, tape measure, pen, scissors, pins and needle threader into my case so it can go with me anywhere and I have everything handy.

The outside of my needle case. I have duplicated the heart from the inside and added birds and flowers from my sewing case so it all matches. I also added an antique glass button for my closure and it once adorned my Grandmother`s blouse so good memories there as well. This will become my most used sewing holder as I really like it.
I have enjoyed doing these projects as they have been quick and easy projects to finish as well as being practical and beautiful.
I hope we get to do some more projects next time.
Bye for now Jude from judesstuff.

September done

Here is the last project from this year's SAL. All the projects have been ones that I have wanted to make so it has been a pleasure. Thank you to Chooky and her lovely helpers for organising and running this stitch-a-long. It is very motivating to see everyone's progress and has been fun seeing all the posts.

Greetings from Finland

Hei all my SAL -friends!

This shared year has been a wonderful experience. I have got many new ideas and I have got a lot of more courage to try them in practice. It would not had happened without you, my dear stitching friends!

The year would not have been this amazing without Chookyblue and Susan... hmm... and of course... not to forget their whip swing-effects ;o)

I'm so happy that our last project is Anni's sweet Needle Book. This was a second time, when I made it... the first one I sewed last Christmas, a present to my sewing friend.
This time I made it to myself;o)
Finally I had a chance to use that GORGEOUS button, bling-bling petals with a velvety center!!!

I used a velvet also inside the needle book, the white velvet heart. And maybe you will laugh to me now, but I did it again...HEXAGONS!... this time 1/2". The stitchery I did with hand-dyed cotton by Atalie, color Peridot. As in the first time I finished the needle book with the binding. I think it's quite nice way...

I hope so SO much that we will meet again in some other time... in other SAL.
But I also understand that organizing these SALs is not an easy piecy!

I wish you all a creative, exciting and happy end of this year!!!
with hugs Satu

September Tick!

My set is complete with this months project!

I always like to have a place for my scissors in my needle cases so I've turned the heart on the front into a scissor pocket. It has a clip inside to make sure they don't fall out.
This has been so much fun this year stitching along with each months projects. Thank you so much Chooky for the inspiration and encouragement to complete a project every month. I'm over the moon with all the projects I've been able to finish.

All done

What a great little project to finish off our 2013 Stitch-A-Long.

This has been so much fun to make the projects each month.  Thank you so much Chookyblue and Susan for keeping us organised, on track and inspired to finish the fun litttle projects.  I have enjoyed making every one of them.

More SKoW movement

Over the last few weeks I've had fun making some more 'Some Kind of Wonderful' & SAL items :)

First up, the SKoW bag (August item) and needle-book (September item) that I showed here, given to Melody as part of my F.R.I.E.N.D.S. swap ...

I have also been able to get another block done of my quilt, the rainbow block ...
It wasn't as fiddly as I thought it would be, though I have to say, I appreciated my LED Lightbox/pad immensely when laying all the pattern pieces out!!  Thanks to Vicki of Pickledish Patch for making them available!!!

I have sewn together all the pieces for this (middle) row, all but including this block in there, so I'll get that put together before I show this row in it's loveliness *grin*.  This leaves me with three blocks left to make, the friendship block, the sewing block, and the 'chair' possibly wine and cheese (or working out/exercise - I really enjoy it while I'm doing it ... it's just getting me there, or making the time where I struggle!) block.  Here's hoping I get some blocks prepped and done in the next few days!

and one in Blue

I made a second one :o)

so different colour wise to my first.

hugs Sharon

September -Done!

Ok....  it was still August when I completed my September task....
September is a busy month here for me, so had to antecipate just to avoid a P on my line....
It was a real pleasure to be part os this Stitch-A-Long. It was my first time with Chooky and second will be SSCS 2013!!!
A couple of days ago I had a "little" problem with my blog.... and all my posts since February went away.... Well, a good thing of being a little (lol) aged is that we are more calm... and I hope will have, not all but the most important, photos posted again soon...
Hope to join again with all of you under the orders of our wonderful host Chookyblue

My needle book doesn´t match exactly but I hope to have, at least, a little "s" on my line
Happy Autumn to all of you!

Through the months of January to September 2013

Hello everyone.
I`m back as Chookyblue  thought this would be a great post.
We are nearly finished this SAL using
`Some Kind of Wonderful` by Anni Downs,
`Red Home` by Natalie Bird and
`Tis the Season` by Natalie Bird.

January: I made the thread catcher out of `Red Home`.
I also made a cotton reel block from my perpetual calender of 365 quilt blocks.
This is a lovely storage container for me.

February: Out of the same book `True friends Quilt`(which I made for a friend)
but I changed the pattern to ABC Cat art work page 47 for mine.
A lot can be fitted in here.

March: `Some Kind of Wonderful` a little pincushion came next.
I love stitching these stitcheries.
This is now in use with pins stuck in it.

April: A wall hanging ready for Christmas out of `Tis the Season` booklet.
Put away in a Christmas box till December.
Looking forward to seeing this hanging up.

May: Another project from `Some Kind OF wonderful`.
Anni Downs  bag.
This side is the bags stitching pattern.

This side I enlarged the small pictures of `My Favorite Things` quilt.
They where on the right hand corners of the applique  patterns.
I use this every time I go out. I love taking it with me.

June: Back to `Red Home` for another delightful pin cushion.
A `tui` bird sits on top of the house.

July: From `Tis the Season` booklet.
A Christmas bag with English pieced hexagons in some lovely Christmas prints.
I put a pocket in this so December it will be my purse.
At the moment that`s in the Christmas box to keep safe.

August: Anni Downs book and this useful sewing case.
I am waiting for Lizzie Kate`s `Holly Mystery` to store that in
while I working on that.
Can`t wait for that to come!

September: The last month of the SAL.
From `Some kind of Wonderful` book is a new needle book for me.
I can`t have enough of these.

Now we are at the end.
Happy to have finished so much but sad it`s over.
Thank you Chookyblue for all the work you do and
so pleased Susan is able to help you as well.
I`ve enjoyed  my projects for this SAL.
Happy Stitching,
Clare.
