I was thinking of adding another border like the solid where the diamonds are. Let me ask:when your trimmed the appliance blocks, did that work out when it was time to attach them? I haven't trimmed mine yet and was wondering about it

Sammie: I didn't have trouble with the applique blocks fitting but I did have trouble with the coloured border after that. Result is that if you take a tape measure to the 1.5" squares they are a fraction smaller. If you are a perfectionist that could drive you crazy! The last border blocks are varying sizes also - I tend to be a bit of a rule breaker so my quilt isn't as per the designers instructions.

I just read my comment. I was typing on my reader and guess they substituted appliance for applique. It looks like you understood my question despite that. Thanks for answering.

Thank Ladies - I am very happy with the finished quilt - I have taken it down off the lounge room curtains and put it with a couple of other quilts waiting to be quilted. I must say there are some beautiful finished flimsies starting to appear on here!!
