Block A finally finished!

I am way behind of all you ladies, but must admit I am so excited to be catching up. I finished Block A tonight at 11.30pm, Adelaide, South Australia time on the 30/6/10. I had wanted to be further ahead by now but life happens. I have used a Moda, Collections for a Cause-Legacy Jelly Roll and Charm Pack I had leftover from a prevoius project. Tonight it is very cold here... 3.5 degrees C, now I am going to sit and admire my block with a lovely cuppa before I retire to bed, very happy that I have finished my first block and looking forward to start tracing the next block tomorrow. Thanks for spurring me on ladies, your blocks all look wonderful.
Happy Stitching

Block C

Block C

Yippee for me I am finished with block C – that was cheesy, I did not realize I was speaking like Cat in the Hat until I typed it. I finished all those house stitches, it actually was very relaxing, which was a problem, each time I starting stitching I became sleepy. Off to the next block!!

Slowly back to normal ... Here is block C ...

Hello again everybody,

I`m back; not for full, but doing my best. My wrist and things are still not the best to work with. It`s bound to go slower than I first thought. But the cast/(plaster?) is just off,and I have had a busy weekend, sewing and organizing this and that.

During my absence I have, among things, enjoyed checking this blog and looking at all the lovely new blocks. OMG(!),I think all blocks are so great, and not to mention the whole quilt being finished. It is so clever of some of you that you really pick your own version of fabrics. I always have great difficulties choosing fabrics! Anyway I just love this specific border fabric, and now I am glad I at last decided to use it. Have had a long time to think, you know.

We`re having a good summer up here closer to the north pole, but still waiting for warmer days to come.A fortnights holiday down south of Norway coming up on July16. As it is bound to be suncream and sand around, must pick carefully what to bing for handcrafts. Gosh, may be not GJ! Well, still a long time till next year :-) We have plenty of time all of us,I think.

Glad to be with you again! Till next time: Happy Stitching to all :)

Still plodding....

slow and steady, but still at it girls....with 2 quilts on the go, one seems to be getting more attention than the other, hoping to even it out and have a share of a block or two soon.

Not Dead...Still Stitching

Wow, what the ? happened to June...I know I said that about May but June...come on, give me a break...aren't months supposed to be more than a couple of days long!!!  Or is that just me...

A couple of days to go yet so you never know I might get the May block put together as my world has started spinning a bit slower, but at least the Block A stitcheries are done...

and I've started June's for Block C...

Given that the June block has the largest stitchery in it I'm not even going to pretend that there is any chance of that block happening before Wednesday.

Finally read all the blog posts for June last night...great work ladies...how awesome that there are even a couple of finished tops in there and love the individual touches like adding ric rac and some colouring-in...it really does help to motivate to see how everyone else is faring and to see all the different variations...

Happy stitching everyone...

Block E is now completed

I thought I was going to have Block D & E finished today until I realised I hadn't completed the Vege Patch. Oops. So only Block E got completed today and I am now relaxing and stitching the Vege Patch while enjoying a night on my own. Hubby has gone to work, kids are both visiting friends.

Ahhhhh the peace and quiet. And whatever I want to watch on TV.

Hope everyone else is having a great weekend too.

Hugs Fiona@Dragonfly-Crafts (NSW - Australia)

250 posts..........

wow this is the 250th post..........can you believe that in a few short months
&&&
we currently have 60 stitchers
&&&
we should be 1/3rd of the way thru the stitchery blocks by the end of June which is only a few days away......
.....our little counter should be saying 180/540 but it is only at 107/540 so we had better get a move on........
.....me included.....
.....I haven't even got the house traced but I nearly have a different block finished..........I have fallen off the "stitching wagon" but hope to be back into it this week.........
I know I will because every time I see another block finished i get so excited about seeing mine finished too........
&&&
If you haven't finished a block or posted on here for a bit just take a pic and show us where you up to...
...maybe the SAL members can help you get re-motived too.........
Happy Stitching

June's Efforts

I've had a busy June and this all I have been able to do. I have retraced the house and traced the ones for July, so they are ready to go. I'm off to Bunya Mountains tomorrow for a bit of R&R. After some morning bush walking, I think an afternoon or two of stitching is in order, that and chocolate and bubbles. I also bought myself a pair of el cheapo magnifying glasses. I have good prescription craft glasses, but these are just that bit better.
It has been wonderful seeing all the new blocks.
Take care,

Block D is finished! :0)

It's been fun stitching these blocks and I've been able to keep up with the one a month plan so that's good. I was worried about getting this one finished on time and now it's done with a week to spare! This is block D. I'm doing them out of order because I have to make them fit together as I'm not following the pattern.

A Collage of my First Two Blocks!!

Whilst fiddling about and seeing how my colours looked together, I made a collage of photos of my first two completed blocks! I spent a couple of hours at the Sydney Craft & Quilt Show on Saturday and was terribly inspired by the beautiful quilts on display! Now on to block 3!!!
I have to say also how great it is to see everyone finishing off their blocks and blogging about them so constantly! It makes us want to keep up (even when it is sometimes hard to fit everything in to our busy days) and I'm really looking forward to seeing the end result for eveyone! It really is wonderful to see all the finished projects and everyone has used such different colours and schemes for their blocks, so they should all look very individual when sewn together! Pleased to see we made 100 for this weekend .... that should keep Miss Chooky very happy!!

Instructions versus destructions

I have finished Pulling the weeds and My gardener has grey Gum Boots, because without the book with instructions I used destruction's . As she didn't have any other flesh showing I thought she was allergic to mosquitoes. Margaret

BETTER LATER AGAIN THAN NEVER!!!!!! - Block One

At last I have my first block complete - hopefully it won't take as long for the next one. Have falled behind your girls, but hope to catch up now.

Better Late Than Never :)

Here is my May Block finally , sheesh who would have thought life would be so much more busier with 6 kids instead of 4. I have started June's Stitcheries but hold no hope in getting them finished in time.....

Greetings from Finland

Hello stitching friends!!!

Here's my block C.
After each finished block I'm more and more excited with this quilt...

And also with this group;)
With your support it's easy to keep the schedule.

In my previous post I asked your help with my borders. I'm happy with all your comments and I will do more blocks until I'll make the final desicion.

I enjoy reading your posts and seeing your progresses.

SSH! SSH!

Ssh! Don's tell Andrea but when I finish the corn stalks tonight I will do the lady kneeling in the garden and then I am finished . ---- Time for Janet's Christmas things ???

Two more blocks--completed!

This is block H(July)...I finished it last week...It is extremely hard to get all of it in the photo because it is such a long block...I love those little wreath blocks...
I managed to finish this one today...This is Block B..I know it is out of order but I had the stitching done so I wanted to put it together...Plus, I used some of the fabric from the swap I did with Lee in North Carolina...Lee doesn't have a blog and Jennifer is posting her progress for her...."Can you spot her fabric?" When I finish and put on the label, I will refer to this block and note that the fabric was from her.

This block is going to butt up against the 'no place like home' block...see that long pink piece on the side..It is one of the border blocks for the house....Hum, I wonder if this gets us to 100...Chooky?...
My 1&1/2 inch squares have given me problems...They seemed to lay even on this one...there were just so many of them.
I'm loving this stitch-a-long...my first ever...it is wonderful meeting all of you and learning about you as we go along.
Happy stitching,
Mama Bear

Block C finished!

I finally found some time to stitch together Block C. Luckily I had already stitched the house earlier which was a great help.  I wonder if we will make it to 100 blocks!
Keep up the great stitching and greetings from Canberra, Australia.

Block A completed!!

I have finally sewn together Block A and hopefully am now on track! I cut the potting shed a little short so have lost the bottom of the pot - but not to worry! Will now get busy on stitching the next block so I can be "on time" for the end of June! It really is inspiring to see the colours and blocks completed by everyone! Thanks for the inspiration ladies! another block

Hi All just adding another block
sorry about the pic I did not want to wait until tomorrow I also traced some more stitches so I can get on with it
hugs Beth

100????

heres the challenge do you think we could get to 100 blocks completed by next weekend?????
we are up to 92 so it's not far...........who is nearly finished a block...........I think I could get one of mine finished.........anyone else????
or better if we could get 105 blocks done we would have 1/5 of the groups blocks completed.........
who else is close and could just push themselves a little????
Lets get stitching
Chookyblue
PS off to trace the house today

Lots of thanks ..............

Here we are,my DD and me,at the plant-nursery and picking flowers for you,a whole a trolley full to thank you ever so much for posting nice words to me,both here and direct to my email. Very sweet of you:0) I definitely should have come around to you lot, but you probably understand why not!!! The flowers will be planted here in Oslo-Norway,for the time being ..... :-)

About one stitch(!!)a minute, approx. one hour a day, making slowly progress on the stitchery. The tools were done earlier, but the wreath now and a real match to my arm. I have not done any sewing on the machine, hopefully a bit in the coming weekend.
Have you noticed the plaster is violet! Great! They cut the old plaster off, checking the X-ray and decided a soft bandage was not good enough. New plaster will do the trick and in another fortnight I`ll be "right as rain":-)
That means soon I`ll catch up with Chookyblue`s plan, which I love to follow.
My DD is writing this for me as a one hand-system is very difficult.

Block H is completed

Bloch H is now completed. I had a bit of trouble with the wreath, but I am sure it looks alright. I pressed it a few times to make it sit right. Anyway must start the next block. I hope you are all having a lovely long weekend.
