It was finished in February.....

Very late last night, with about half an hour to spare I finished off my Red Home tote bag.  Just needed to wait for some time(and the light of day) to take some pics today.....

I've been loving all the beautiful fabric combos people have used for the tote bags, there will be no two bags alike.....

I made a start today on my March pincushion.  The 9 patch ends are pieced and the stitchery is traced ready for me to make a start on tonight.

Happy stitching girls......... Nicky x

Done - 10.50pm

Oodles of time left.

I cut most of the fabric this morning before work, finished off the stitchery during lunch at work and then did the applique hearts and made the bag tonight.  No fancy photo shoot.

I'm pleased to say that all the fabric came from my stash. Some of it has been around for ages.  The fabric on the base is scraps from a kit for a  Santa bag from when Anni first opened "The Home Patch" down in a tiny shop in Keppel Street.  I think it was about nine years ago.

I'm sure there will be lots of these bags at Nundle next month.

Now I have to look out some fabrics for next month's project.

Cheers

Just in Time...

Today was a big day in the sewing room finishing off my bag

I do feel a tad guilty for doing the blanket stitch on the machine, but it is so much quicker

I only finished after tea tonight, and so pleased I finished with a day to spare!
Its visits to this blog and seeing all the competed bags that kept me going...and of course the threat of that whip!lol!
Bye For Now

True Friends

Love to see how all your bags are turning out.
This is mine. It's been finished for almost a week but I've been waiting for daylight to get some decent photos.
Fabrics are mainly French General.

Front.

Back.

Inside pocket and key strap.

I allways wanted a Christmas bag but never dared to make one.
After seeing Vicki's I think I must have one in time for Christmas this year.

Stitchery done, now for the bag

There have been some wonderful bags appearing here recently.  This weekend is going to be full of lots of stitching and sewing and one of the things I want to accomplish is to finish my February Red Home bag.... there are only six more days till the deadline anyway, so it's time I got going!  Here is my stitchery completed, with a couple of changes in the trees and flowers.  This was a really fun stitch and came together a lot quicker than I thought it would.

Happy stitching everyone, I hope you have a lovely weekend stitching too.......

Midway update

My bag ready for quilting.

Instead of front and back I made both in one piece.

The lining is all done ready to put inside whenever.
Guess that will be sometime during the week-end.

Happy Valentine's to all of you.

Love this bag

This was a good choice of project, lovely embroidery, good sized bag, measurements worked perfectly, and very enjoyable to make.

I chose 2 of the Life is Beautiful (Helen Stubbings) fabrics, and matched with other fabrics from my stash.  I also put the button on it for a closure.  I had meant to put the button on the front, but sewed the closure onto that side and had finished off the seam before I realised.  I could change it but.......  will wait and see.  And as I always do, I put pockets inside.

February stitching

I've had to drag myself away from my crocheting thus month to get into the stitching this month.

I've modified my project this month to include one of Natalie Lymers patterns on my bag - it's coming along nicely!

Sitting in air conditioned comfort today.
Another hope quilt awaits binding too!

Give the February task a big tick.

Here is my February finish. The front of the bag and the lining ate shown in the photos.

I love the finished bag.
It is a great size with pockets and i think the fabrics are gorgeous.

Now to begin to prepare the task for March.
