It has taken me a few weeks to work out if I wanted to add the diamonds to this or do something else. I finally decided to add the red Ric Rac between the two borders and am now working on joining my 9 patch blocks to the sides, top and bottom. Sorry, it's not the best photo.
Have to do a bit of Xmas secret sewing before I finally get back to it.
Till next time...........

My progress so far........
Hi everyone, here I am at last to show you a couple of photos of my progress so far. Not sure if I will be able to have the top finished by the end of the month which is only 2 days away, but I will keep plugging away and hopefully it will be finished by next month.
I am really pleased to have finished my satin stitch stems on the centre block at last. The peeper is attached and the next border is almost there.
Love all the finished tops and completed quilts. Congratulations to those ladies. Everyone else is doing really well. Thank you Chooky and Susan for giving us the push we need to get the top over the finish line. See you next time............ Noela........
PS: Edited by Susan - it is hard to see in the picture - but Noela's satin stitch is beautiful. - Certainly worth the effort Noela.

August Progress....
Haven't finished but here is my progress......
Lots of work on the centre block. Only a small amount of applique to finish and then work on the satin stitch stems which may take a while. Didn't help that I ran out of the thread I am stitching them with. Off to Spotlight tomorrow.
Lots of cutting of 2" squares for the check borders, also started to put some of these together. I also cut the blocks for the final pink border. In all I was really happy with the prep I managed to get done.
Be back soon when I finish my centre block. Congratulations to all the ladies who have finished their blocks for this month.

July/Aug catch up
Tomorrow, I am off to a retreat at Tamborine Mountain where I am hoping to catch up on my SAL blocks. Will be there until Sunday so should get a good bit of stitching done on that centre block, then I can add the pieced border which I completed last weekend.
Well must go, as I need to pack for tomorrow. Be back next week with an update.

Progress for July
Sorry I am late Chooky and Susan but here is my progress for July. Have finally got all my applique pieces on and am finally happy with how it looks. Now all I have to do is stitch them on but this week my son is to have an operation which takes precedent so may take me a little while to get to the finish line but I will get there eventually.
I made the vase slightly larger so I could fit the whole bird on.
It's lovely to see all the different fabrics being used by everyone. I can see a few people are using French General like me. Be back soon. Happy Stitching........

June blocks nearly there.
Just wanted to update where I am with my June blocks as I am running a bit late with them. Hopefully they will be finished by the end of the weekend.
All the appliqué blocks are finished with the last two pieced blocks well on there way. Some hiccups this week with my sons recovery after arm surgery so have been a little preoccupied with running him to and from doctors appointments for more tests. Will post again when the final 2 blocks are complete. Loving my French General fabrics. Thanks Chooky and Susan for all your work.
Hugs.......

My May blocks finished.
I made a good start early in the month but fell short at the end so finally here are my May blocks complete but a couple of days late.
I decided to change one of the small blocks so that I could include my surname initial as well. This is the only change I made. Now onto the June blocks.
Everyone is doing such a great job, I am loving checking out all the different fabrics being used. I haven't had much time to make comments but will try to do better this month.
Thank you Chooky and Susan for keeping us on track.
Hugs Noela.............

April Blocks
Here are my April blocks. Had most of them finished last week, just the epp star to do. Finally finished that off last night so thought I had better get a move on and post a photo today.
I stitched the stems on the flower and cherry blocks in satin stitch. This is my first epp star so am quite pleased with how it turned out.
There are lots of lovely blocks being made out of a variety of fabrics. I can't wait to see them when we finally get to put all our blocks together.
Thank you to Chooky and Susan for keeping us on track.
Till next month..... Happy Stitching...........

March Blocks.
This has been a crazy month for me, lots of happy things happening but also a very sad time with the loss of our nephew last week.
I had all my blocks prepared with only the stitching to do but just couldn't find the motivation until with the whip cracking over my head, I finally got stuck into them. I almost finished them last night, just a bit more stitching on the star blocks which will be completed today.
Here are a couple of photos :
Some lovely blocks being made, they all look so different depending what fabric is used.
Thank you to Chooky and Susan for your encouragement and time spent with the blog housekeeping.
Hugs till next time
Noela.

| My favourite blocks are the pears, I satin stitched the stalk as blanket stitch didn't look as nice. |

February blocks done.....
My apologies Chooky and Susan for my late post. Finished the last 2 blocks today. Have used a mixture of French General fabrics with a few odd pieces from my stash. I've really enjoyed fussy cutting the fabrics and stitching these although in the future I will allow more time for that process. I have also chosen to use blanket stitch applique instead of needle turn.
I've left the little circles out of the heart blocks for now as I may add buttons to the centre but if not will add the circles later.
Congratulations on so many finishes and a big Thank you to Chooky and Susan for pushing us to finish.
See you next month
Noela

Finally making a start.....
At last I've decided what fabric I'll use for the quilt. I had 3 different piles out but have put the 3 Sisters and the Tilda fabric away and kept my French General stash out. Am using a few backgrounds from my blue box as well and I ordered a few more pieces from Perri Dixon at Stitches from the Bush. She had a few different ranges to choose from which was great as I thought I might have some trouble getting more to add to the fabrics I had.
The fabrics in my stash are from Rural Jardin, Le Bouquet Francais and La Belle Fleur,
Now all I have to do is start to cut into them, so that will be my next task............
See you next time.
Noela.

My stitchery for January.
I have had this completed for a couple of days but with a new puppy, not much is getting done. Here is my version of Anni Downs 'Christmas Wishes To All'.
I've used Cottage Garden Running Postman thread for the stitchery and fabrics to match from my stash.
My Natures Journey pattern has arrived and I am in the process of going through my stash to choose some fabrics. Have a couple of options so am trying to decide which one I will go with, will post a photo when I do.
Hugs Noela.

Popped in to say Hi.
Just wanted to say Hi to everyone. My name is Noela and my blog is called Quilty Bits from the Blue Room. So glad to join Chooky and friends in another SAL. Have been in a few and must admit without encouragement from Chooky and Susan, wouldn't have finished a couple of my quilts.
I've ordered my pattern from Anni and when I receive it, will then go and sort through my stash to find some fabrics to use. I am having a clean-up of my sewing room at the moment and I must admit I do have lots and lots of fabric, some I had completely forgotten about.
My stitchery for January has been traced and I hope to start on it today so will post a photo later. Can't decide whether to use blue or red thread. It will definitely be a Cottage Garden one as they are some of my favourites.
I am enjoying reading all your posts. A big welcome to the new members. I'm sure we will have a wonderful time as we stitch together through the year.
Hugs Noela (quiltybits).
