SKOW update

Thank you Chookyblue for inviting me to update on my progress of SKOW.
I have been working on my quilt daily as I have set the target of finishing the project by the end of January.  I am needle turning the last few blocks and hoping to join the strips in the next few days. See you all again soon, now back to stitching my blocks.

Another Year.

I am still working on my quilt top. Chookyblue has been very kind to give the extra time to complete the project. I will not be able to complete my quilt before New Year's day. I admire all my fellow stitchers that have completed your quilts. Your quilts are beautiful. Please keep me on the sidebar as I would like to keep you updated on my progress. I have set myself a goal to finish my quilt by the end of January 2013. I  know that I cannot join in the next Stitch A Long because I have not finished this year's project.
I would like to thank you all for your support and encouragement over the year. I hope to join and partake in 2014 Stitch A Long.
I wish you all a Happy New Year. I hope you have a peaceful, healthy and blessful year.

Panic Mode

It has been a very long time since I have updated the progress on my quilt.  Or should I say lack of progress!!  Thanks to Chookyblue for sending out reminders of how many sleeps left until the end date of this present Stitch-A-Long.  This has sent me into panic mode. I am so behind that I have spent at least three hours every day for the last week working on my quilt.
I have decided to cheat a little by joining all my empty applique blocks to their pieced blocks.  I now have five columns to work on. This means that I can take it out and about with me as all the applique is already prepared.  I decided to piece the blocks into columns as I had the last week off work and could spent time at my sewing machine without feeling guilty about household chores!
So I am making slowing progress but really enjoying getting back into the Stitch-A-Long.  Please keep up the sleep reminders Chookyblue as it helps getting me motivated.

Making very slow progress!

I am making very slow progress with my quilt.  Nothing new as I seem to be always in catch up mode!!  Life has a habit of getting in the way with my stitching.  Just wanted you to know that I am still here and love all the work that is being produced by my wonderful fellow stitchers.
I have added a photo of the fabrics that I am using in my quilt.  All of these fabrics I had in my stash.  They were all washed and ready to use.  Life is going to be calmer over the next few months so I plan to post updates more often.  It is great to be back.

Excitement

I e-mailed Chooky last night to ask if we were allowed to blog about the new SAL. I was wanting to get started but still waiting for my book to arrive.  It was posted on Monday evening in New Zealand and it arrived this morning here in England, just two and half days later.  WOW!
Has anyone started yet?  Just wandering which methods of applique everyone was going to use and your choices of fabric?  I am being nosey.   I have a lot of Moda fabrics that I have been saving to use for a special project.  I have been collecting Moda for several years now.  I am going to use them for this new quilt.   On my next post I will upload a picture of my fabrics.   I off now to read my new book and get planning on the new SAL.

P.S.  Chooky, great choice of book!

Tis The Season

Two photos to show what I have been up too over the last few days.  Finally I had finished. I have really enjoyed stitching this quilt.
I have ordered the book for the new Stitch A Long. Once again I could not obtain the book from a British shop, so I ordered it from Annie Quilt  shop in Ashburton NZ!  Rachel, the owner, is wonderful is sorting me out.
Thank you Chooky for all your encouragement in keeping me on task with this project.  Looking forward to the next project.

Borders

A quick update to let you all see that I have added my borders.  I have cut my binding strips in the same colour as the outer border fabric.
I chose my inner border fabric to frame the blocks.  I am a little worried that it may be a little too bold.  Time is ticking away.  Still need to layer, quilt and bind.  I feel it is time to give up sleeping, cooking and cleaning until I finish the quilt!!  I have enjoyed working on this project.  Thank you Chookyblue.
P.S.  Does it count that I am twelve hours behind Australia?  It is still Wednesday 28th here!!

Very Slow Progress

I have planned to spend the whole day yesterday sewing to complete my quilt.  Life has a way of getting in the way.  On Wednesday evening, my DD announced that her student accommodation was ready now for her to move into, a week early!!  So I spend the day packing not sewing.   The up side to this,  I do not have to spend next week being her personal taxi to her university in the city.
As I wanted to show lots of photos of my progress ending with a complete quilt, I now will have to wait a little longer.  So here are some photos of the blocks.

I love all the quilts that the wonderful the stitchers have finished and posted so far.  I feel my choice of fabrics are boring and plan to be a little bolder with the next stitch-along!!
I will post again next week. I am still hopeful to have finished by the end of the month.  Thanks for all the comments and encouragement.

Progress Update

A quick update on my blocks.  On Thursday,  I am hoping to spend the whole day sewing the blocks into a top.

I will try and get the quilt layered up by the weekend.  I am  still confident that the quilt will be completed by the end of the month.  Thanks to Chooky for all your encouragement.

Inspired!

I have been inspired by Maree posting on Wednesday 24th August.  I love her table runner, and I want one too.  But I am not going to start a table runner as I must finish my 'Tis the Season' quilt.
I am making very good progress.  I am on target to finish the quilt by the end of this month.
My dear husband has booked a short break in France and we sail on this Thursday's ferry, so I thought I would get out my 'Gardener's Journal' blocks and pack them to complete whilst sitting on the ferry and travelling down to the South West of France by car.   I  have spent the whole day looking for the blocks, book and threads!  I have turned the house upside down and now very certain that those naughty fairies have been for a visit to my house again.  Eventually I found my book but not the blocks.  I usually organise all the items for a project and place them in a box all together.  I cannot start again as all the threads are with the lost blocks. What am I to do?
Does anyone fancy a trip to Devon to help me with my naughty fairies?

Always late!

I join the stitch-a-long last year but have never posted. Please forgive me. I am making very slow progress with my blocks. I will finish the quilt this year, although not sure which month it will be. Last October, I travelled to New Zealand from my home in England for an extended holiday with my husband. I did think about taking blocks with me but then I thought I would need the space for all the goodies I would buy in the wonderful quilting shops on the South Island. On return to England we were met with snow. We rarely experience such weather in part our of the country. So I went into hibernation. I will upload some pictures of my blocks on my next posting, which I hope will be soon.

I will also be starting this year stitch-a-long. Just need to purchase the book. Thanks to Chookyblue for visiting my blog and e-mailing to give me a poke.
