It took a while for me to decide what substitution
I wanted to make for the wooden chair block and once
I decided on Fall, I needed my Honey Bear to
draw me a football that I
could reproduce.
I have had the present block ready for a while now
and just needed to do
the patchwork to go in between the last three blocks.
I plan to purchase some sheeting for the backing
and hope to have it quilted by a new blogger who
has just bought a long arm. With the buttons
on my top, I'm not sure she can do it.
If not, I will quilt it by hand and if I have
to do that, there is no way I'll finish by the deadline.
I wasn't sure that I wanted to do this year's SAL
because of all the applique but once
I committed, it gave me the opportunity to learn
needle turn and so I'm glad that I did this.
It has been a much larger and more time
consuming project than the other SALs which
I also completed. I am happy now to move on
to something else, hopefully a smaller
project.
I have the embroidery done for the pin cushion
and plan to complete it in the next few weeks.

Thanks, Chooky, it sure looks good to see Top beside my name.

Love your changes - maybe you need to remove the buttons, let your friend quilt it and sew them back on - would have to be quicker than quilting by hand.
