Finally an update

Over the last few months I have been watching what others have posted and loving all the results.

I have done very little sewing - life just got too busy!

These are blocks I prepared in February. We're away for the long weekend - well a shorter version for me as I have to get kids back for rehearsals - but it's still time away.

So the project I have with me is My Favourite Things Quilt. Progress will be made this weekend.

I cooked before we came so the pantry is stocked with lots if cakes, mild fins and biscuits. So I'm prepared for the inevitable "I'm hungry!".

Hopefully there will be more to show by Monday.

My Favourite Things Quilt

I'm not working today so have a day at home and have allocated a day of "My Favourite Things"!!  I'm hoping that by the end of the day I will have these blocks together with the stripped borders and that Chookyblue will give me a tick for December, January and maybe even February!!!   I'm celebrating 3 years of blogging with a giveaway which closes at midnight on 30th January 2012 - if you want to take a look click here!!    Hoping to see you tomorrow with some more progress!!   ..... My Favourite Things Quilt

A couple of blocks have now been completed for my December deadline !!  In amongst playing with our new puppy NALA (the classic time waster) - I have managed a little bit of stitching!!  My old blue jeans!

My suitcase which I have altered with the names of our recent travel destinations!

And although not a stitching project - this little time waster has been lots of fun!!

My Favourite Things Quilt

In between the christmas shopping, cooking, wrapping gifts and working ... I am making time to do a little bit of stitching each day .... some Christmas and some current projects ..... here are a couple of completed blocks (in amongst the wrapped gifts) ....

Mmmmm .... I am enjoying a cup of peppermint tea as I write this post!

As you can see I have opted for the blanket stitch method as I enjoy the texture of the applique!  I hope your Christmas stitching is going along nicely and you make time each day to relax and enjoy this festive season!

"My Favourite Things" - A Start !!

While the "Tis the Season" quilt is at the quilters I have made a start on my next Anni Downs quilt!  What a lovely evening of preparing and sorting I have had !!    I filled a big empty box with some very special things ......  like a really beautiful book and some gorgeous fabrics and threads .....

And then I appliqued the patty cakes block (and started stitching a little bit) ...

And whilst enjoying my peppermint tea, I prepared the "cup of tea" block .....

And while the rain drops are slowly falling outside my window .... I prepared the "singing in the rain" block (and no, I am not going outside to sing in the rain in the dark!!) ...

And finally the old blue jeans!   I love to blanket stitch and applique so I have reversed some of the blocks and put the writing on the opposite side ... so mine will be a little different from the original!

Enjoy your stitching .......... Fiona H. xx
