... so now my Holly Cottage is finished....

Thanks Michelle for your lovely pattern.

I really really really loved doing this quilt

It's a flimsy..... tada......

I'm really happy how pretty this quilt is.....

I used a set of Anni Downs fabrics for doing this cutest pattern of Michelles

At least I have a feasible time frame to have it quilted by Christmas?????

It's ready and folded and has the binding too....

Hoping to see a few more blocks going on.... we are coming to the end of this Stitch-a-long.... of course that won't mean you can't still post up your blocks and quilts.  All it will mean is that I am no longer coordinating ....

Keep going... a few blocks to do .....

February

Oooooh.... it is exciting to start seeing the last of the blocks coming in...... how are you all doing?

This one has a lot more work in it hasn't it - perhaps we should have started with it?

Anyway, here is my cottage....  I loved doing all the different parts of it ....

... and true to my obsession I have sewn the block into it's row....

Next month will be easy for me... since they are already in rows.....

Looking forward to seeing some more blocks... doesn't matter if they are from earlier months... it's not a race but to try and encourage us to finish our projects..

Please let me know if your sidebar is not reflecting properly ... thanks

Have a lovely day .......

Singing Carols - November

How is everyone getting along with their blocks?

I am wishing a lot that we had started earlier and that my quilt top would be ready for Christmas?  I wonder if you feel the same .... at least we have next year to look forward to it ...

I had a couple of days at a retreat this weekend and got my November block put together....

They really are very sweet pictures and I love the relatively simple blocks to hold them all together...

Happy Stitching everyone.....

No self whipping for me....

I think there is a special word for whipping oneself... but I'm not into that....

... so I thought I better get a move on...

I had done my stocking applique before my holiday.....

and I started my pudding as soon as I could when I got back.....

... and did the piecing for them both at the same time....

I am loving the applique on these blocks ... and the piecing is nice and simple with the squares....

Behind but started....

Good morning.... and here we are in July... have you started your next block???? No pressure!!!

Well, I was on holiday in June - thank you Raewyn for all your whip cracking!  though it doesn't look like much was needed - so many wonderful blocks already - I have just been looking through them ....

Well done ...... I just love all the different colours of this quilt....

I went over to the UK - where I have lots of family including 2 of my 4 children and 5 of my 8 grandchildren - it was just lovely spending time with them and we visited a few beautiful places too.  Back again - delays in airports and a 1.30am arrival home but we are catching up on our sleep and I am busting to get back to my sewing.

I did my stocking before we left.... the block is not finished and I will get the piecing done this month done as well as the Pudding block.....

It's such fun..... I am so looking forward to having this quilt in my home....

Keep up the great work - I am inspired by you all...

Ready...... Steady.....

.... almost time to start!!!!

I enjoyed Raewyn's introduction post and thought I would also.  Many of you who have joined in with the stitchalong I have known for a while, but there's quite a lot who I don't know even though we may have sewn together on some of the other quilts.

My Nature's Journey top is finished - but I still haven't quilted it!!!

Chookyblue, who as you know started the StitchALongs was one of the first people I met when I entered blogland in 2010 - and she was so supportive and helpful.... since then I have made some amazing online friends and been lucky enough to meet a number of them in real life....

Please feel free to make a short introduction of yourself - we are quite a good size group and it would be lovely to know a bit about you - no pressure of course, say as much or as little as you like.  Even show us what fabrics you are going to use.

I live in Queensland Australia and have been in Australia since 2002 - coming from Zimbabwe.  Of course I have wonderful memories and friends and family there and miss them terribly but I do love it here and have wonderful friends and family here too and we are making new memories.  I also have a lot of family in the UK so the internet is my BFF.....  Just me and Hubz at home, and a dog now and I am addicted to my sewing...

These are the fabrics I have.  I purchased a fat 1/8th pack last year and used a little.  Managed to get a bit of metreage for borders so I'm set to go.... These are Anni Downs fabrics and I think the little prints will look gorgeous...  The beige spot will be my background for the pictures....

For this month we suggested fabric finding and if you felt like it a smaller item from the book.....  this is one I have made previously - I've run out of time to do another but I'm sure you won't mind if I share it anyway.

It is the doorhanger from Page 31 and I used a variegated thread

In June, although I am hosting I will be absent from blogland but Raewyn will be around to crack the whip and answer any questions.....

So lovely to have you all sewing along with us.... not too late to join if you are still thinking about it....

Righto, Gotto Go.... looking forward so sewing with you all.....xx

I couldn't help myself....

... I discovered that this is true for me....

... so whenever Hubz wasn't looking I hid in the sewing room and did a bit more.... (he thought I was sorting stuff!!)

... and this morning whilst Hubz caught up on the World Cup Rugby he had recorded, I did a bit more 'sorting'.....

I love this top......

There is so much to look at in each part of it.....

... I purchased some extra plain red French General for the binding.....

... now it's folded up together and packed in a box.....

Big thanks and Hugz to Chookyblue who hosts this fun quilt making, and trusty Susan who helps out with whip cracking..... and all of you who sewalong and are so encouraging to....

Righto, Gotto Go... I really need to do some of that sorting now

.. and I have started sewing the applique block borders .... in between packing boxes...

Not sure how much I will get done the rest of this month but aiming to have the top together..

Well done those who have done their tops... and double well done to those who have got it quilted and bound also... magnificent work!

August done....

I went away for a few days and took my applique with me only to discover I had not cut enough so this morning I quickly did 6 more and sewed them on.....

Glad I could make it in time......

... it's surprisingly big with these borders on....

Thanks everyone.. so nice to sew with you all and see so many different ones ... and they all look fantastic...

Phew... made it....

What a lot of work in this block.... with a bit of unpicking and going back to fix things (like missing ladybug heads) I got this done last night...

As you can see my large flowers are not to the pattern, I fussy cut flowers from the fabrics I am using (thanks Chookyblue for the idea)

No more me being chased with that whip!!  ... till the next time that is

Have a great weekend everyone....

March blocks

These are my blocks for March..

Even though the needleturn is a slow and fiddly process for me - as is doing blanket stitch inside out - I am enjoying it all and having it broken into workable amounts each month is a bonus...

Thanks Chookyblue for hosting this and so much support and encouragement from everyone else .. I love seeing all the different colour choices
