Tis nearly finished....

Here's a photo of my finished quilt top,I'm still trying to decide on what border fabric to use then it's quilting time and binding.I'm also using the wreathe block for my quilt label....so mark me off for 13 blocks done and dusted Chooky :)

My quilt is finished - jippi

So, finally, my "Tis the Season"-quilt is finished. I'm really happy and satisfied. It has been very nice to make a whole quilt this way. Much easier to follow up, when so many others also make the same product. And there are so many gorgeous, finished quilts out there.

Thanks to all of you for letting me be part of this project, and a great thank you to Chookyblue, who make this come true.

Maybe I will join in some other time too!

Here is a more close up picture with some of the stitcheries. In the middle I have made my initials and the year this quilt is made. If I should forget it in the future.

Thanks for now, and maybe we meet again here sometimes. :-)
Hugs, Anne Lise

August Blocks

fairy & treefairytree

Yay my last 2 blocks are finished. I saved the partridge in a pear tree until last as it is my fave block. Now to join them up…………

Blocks are Stitched using Transfer Eze

This is what I use when doing the stitchery, it dissolves easily and leaves no trace behind, MUCH better than tracing! I order mine from Bird Brain Designs http://www.birdbraindesigns.net/products/514-transfer-eze.aspx  I have now stitched all of my blocks except the label one, the first border is on and I have to fabric to finish the top, loved stitching it, when we were on holiday in the USA in a little town called Drummond in Montana there was a little store called The Quilt Patch, I showed her the blocks I had made and she was so excited she took down all the details, wonder if she'll ever do it?

These are the other two background fabrics I think I am going to use for the other borders.
OK, off for a coffee and to do some stitching before bed.
Goodnight All!

cracking the whip...........

Ok it's the end of August............cracking the whip..........we have one month to all be finished................FINISHED.............that means bound and quilted so lets get moving...............
I only have the label left to stitch which I hope to get done on Friday while at the cows............
Thanks heaps to Maree Farmyard Crafts for updating the blog for me..............she has permission to do anything here if needed, since it is a group blog with so many members I thought I needed someone else with admin permissions if it was needed any time..............
And cheeky Jo thanks for the birthday post and all the wishes you girls left for me............seems so long ago since the last few weeks have been so busy but thanks to the girls who commented..........I did have a lovely day..............
&&&&
Martine emailed me some pics of her Tis the Season quilt..........
You can find her post about it here..........
the thing I hate about seeing another quilt is that I get another favourite...........so many colour combinations I love............
Martine has tied her quilt which is a great idea..............might steal that idea Martine as I could do it easy down the road............
Ok better rush........
Wonderful to see so many finished quilts in my update............another 3 finished.........congrats Sue, Vickie and Dawn.....
Oh and about time Cardygirl posted some progress...........after chatting on the phone and telling me she will get it finished next year she pops up a post showing some progress so she will be stitching and she will get this quilt finished VERY soon.........I know she is a person who HAS TO STITCH SOMETHING DAILY.....I will be cracking the whip at her for sure...........no more gentle gentle after that post...........wonder how much she has got done since this post on the 20th Aug.............she had better show us don't you think...
....we are all in this together so the FINAL COUNTDOWN is on......
....end of September is the DEADLINE.............

Oh and GJ girls...........hope we can see some progress very soon...........been a bit quiet on that front..............
Happy Stitching Chookyblue................

I travelled to Sydney last week, hopped in a rental car and in Nowra attended the Jukejema Water's Edge retreat, it was FABULOUS!!
Anyway, a teeny tiny little bit of shopping followed me home...
So I am all set and rearing to get onto this project!
Just when you are ready Donna, no pressure...

Another Quilt Top finished for the Group

Donna can you please mark me off as completing my quilt top.

With work committments slowing down now, I've had the pleasure of getting back to my sewing machine.

The borders have been attached with a little green peeper to break it up. I've got a lot of left over fabrics so I think I will make a scrappy border once I get back to the quilting. I've also got some more blocks stitched that I want to turn into a little Xmas hanging.

Tis finished at last...

I am thrilled, it's finished and ready to hang...yippee!
I am so happy the way it's turned out...
I just love the 'Riley Blake' Christmas fabrics.
Can't wait for Christmas to hang it!

I now must hurry to get my GJ finished too
 Before the next stitch along...
 Thanks Chooky-Blue for the encouragement...Push...LOL

Happy Stitching

If you click onto the pic you will see a larger version...Thanks so Much Chookyblue for the SAL..I don't think I would have finished this if I didn't have the Encouragement & Inspiration from the other members to keep going.

Top done

... and handquilting startet.

Pia

Finished...yay!!

Today I spent the afternoon stitching on the binding, adding a rod pocket and label. So now I am officially finished.
thank you Chooky for keeping us all on track, couldn't have done it all without you :)

Progess report!

I thought I would post again with another two blocks.  I am really enjoying the stitching now as I am not worrying about getting a perfect stitch every time.

I am very confident that I will now complete the quilt on time.  I am stitching for a least an hour a day, but some days I stitch longer.   I have all the fabric, threads and book in a bag that I can pick up and take with me if I go out.  It is amazing how much you can achieve whilst waiting for appointments or picking up children from collage etc.

  Happy Stitching, Deborah

Can you hear that?

I can...the sound of the wrath of Chookyblue bearing down upon me!
And deservedly sew...oops I mean so. I have not been a very good stitchalong groupie this year and have totally lost my oomph with this...despite Chooky's gentle (and not so gentle) encouragement and the inspiration I get from seeing everyone's wonderful finishes. I have three blocks stitched, four more traced, the blocks all together and ....blah. I think I just need to allocate some time each week and stick to it.
One hour per week sounds do-able...what do you think?
Cardygirl xx

Good Morning Girls!

Just wanted to let you know that I've done some updating (for Chookyblue) this morning. I hope I've not missed anyone!! If I have, please let me know (farmyardcrafts@gmail.com) and I can fix it up!

Yes, Chookyblue is fine. Just crazy busy right now. This is one little thing I can do to help her out.

Rightio - that's it from me. I better get organised. The grocery shopping doesn't do itself! Gee I am so jealous of you 'city girls' that can do your shopping online and have it delivered! We have an hour to drive to town before we can even think about doing the shopping!!

Maybe we should stop eating?! Okay, not really an option. I best go get ready!!

Have a great weekend girls and congratulations on lots of finishes and a few more finished quilts to add to the list!

Maree @ Farmyard Crafts.

Last block

And maybe a top by the end of the week-end.

This is what I'm up to!

Closeup of my tablerunner
These are some of my second lot of stitcheries. I have been thinking about whether, as an Aussie, I really need a second Christmas quilt. (There are some people at my house who question the value of the first Christmas quilt! Just because Christmas usually coincides with a heatwave here, what's their point?)

The first tablerunner, with blocks each way so as not to discriminate against any side of the table!
So I have decided the second set of thirteen stitcheries will become projects. Table runners are first on my list. The one above is for my daughter and her family. I have spent quite a bit of time visiting with them in Adelaide through July and August (I became a grandmother for the third time) and feel like I have done very little in that time! (Other than snuggle newborns and cute kids! Worthwhile, of course!) My plan now is to get these TTS projects finished off in the next couple of weeks or so. Watch this space!

Kris from Life at Rosemary Hill

I'm now Quilting...TTS Blocks.

Wednesday saw me in my Sewing Cave to finish off my last 2 blocks of my TTS ...
I had decided from the begining that I was going to make a Tablerunner with my blocks rather than a Quilt..We have a very long table which is Needing More Tablerunners...
I did a Complete turnaround and took off the 2nd lot of Borders on all blocks & have put on 2 seperate border strips down both sides of the blocks....
I forgot to take a piccie of the last 2 blocks but here it is being quilted...I have also added on some extras & the binding is now on....I will follow up with a final photo soon.

Cheers
Maree

finally, the last 2 blocks.....

Then are my 2 last blocks finished. Now I'm going to finish it. I have the fabrics for the borders, but I have to buy backing. May be next week???

When I look around in the blog now, there are so many quilts that are finished. They all look gorgeous all of them.

Until next time  -  have fun everybody!

Here I have put all the blocks together. Just borders, binding and backing that is missing

THE NEXT 2 BLOCKS

Hi all, I have finished all but my signature block and plan to get my quilt finished by the weekend. I am enjoying doing the SAL and hope there will be more projects to do soon. Sorry I forgot to iron the Santa block before taking my photo, but I was so excited to have sewed the 12 blocks that I wanted to share straight away. Cant wait for tomorrow to get it all put together. Bye for now Jude (judesstuff).

Finally Finished :-)

Well, here is my project completed .. yeah!!!!!. It's all done by hand apart from some of the binding, so it has taken a little while, but I'm happy with the way it has turned out. I may still add some embellishments here and there if/when I come across any bits and bobs that will suit it.

I'm loving seeing how everyone is coming along with theirs, and I'm looking forward to see lots more completed really soon.

Can you please mark me off Chooky, and I can't wait to see what our next project will be!!

Keep stitching :-)

August blocks from Finland

I am on early in this month...
both blocks are stitched and even pieced together!

Do you feel THE feeling, which I felt when I ALSO got these pretty things together...
I have seen many beautiful tops and finished TIS quilts here,
that I was so inspired with my own blocks and it was easy to keep the schedule;)

Now there is border blocks ahead... Yes, you read totally right... blocks;)
I'm planning to make a bit different borders to my version.
Hopefully I'll succeed with them...
