TTS blocks-July.

3 more blocks & I'm done Stitching....
cheers
Maree

Borders on two of my blocks for my green version of 'Tis the Season

Finally got some borders on the blocks.  I have bought more variegated yarn, so will be able to get back to stitching the blocks - only 3 to go.

Not sure whether to stick to these two colours or put more greens in.  Haven't had the chance to look at how other greens will work.  I'm happy with the look of these two.

Green has never been my colour, so this has been a challenge.  I think it will look ok!

Cheers

Getting there slowly .......

Here are my June blocks finally....... and I'm getting through July's ones too.  Hopefully July will be done before the end of August. lol

I'm loving all the wonderful colour combinations and even finished quilts already! Wow, they are looking great.  Keep up the great work everyone!

Happy stitching.................... Nicky

Almost finished!

Its been quite cool at night so to keep my fingers
busy I have almost finished 'Tis the Season'
All my blocks are stitched and all I need to do
is assemble and quilt it. I did tweak a few as my hubby
is not very kind with anything to do with Father Christmas
So I changed any blocks with reference to him.
I was pleased and hubby quite likes it...
At least he won't complain with it hanging up for a few months a year...LOL.
I am thinking of hand quilting it like the original but may machine stitch it yet!

Thanks Chooky for the push to get this finished...he he
Now to finish my Gardeners Journal...
before you post another lovely stitchery quilt...hint hint.

Happy Stitching All!
 Hugs Dawn x x x

July Blocks Done!

I must have been really organise this month! I finished my July blocks last week. *grin* I've also finished stitching the last block, just need to sew on the borders. Here's my July Blocks and the 11 up on a layout sheet.

Phew....they are all completed now...a little late in posting though.

I know you all appreciate the neck exersises...admit it...you really do!! LOL  In all seriousness I am sorry...I just cannot figure out how to turn these around on themy blog.  I turn them around in 'my pictures' but they revert back when I add them to the blog.....argh!!! I have even recieved a few 'tips' from others on how to fix this but it's not happening!  Maybe it's a Canadian thing...eh!
A little late, but believe it or not I finished stitching all my blocks in May.  I have just been a little overwhelmed with life right now so getting them onto my blog has been delayed.  But here they are!  Ta...da...including August.  I thought I had better post them now while I was in 'post-mode'.  I have thoroughly enjoyed this stitch-along.  Thank you Chookyblue!  I will post my finished top once I have it all together...that will be on my next PMS (Potluck, Munchies & Sewing!!!)day at Quilters Cupboard.

Update for Me!

Here's a photo of the 2nd set of 12 blocks I've made for quilt #2. My little helper (as you can see) was trying to get in the limelight again! At least he seems to be feeling well enough to get involved!

My first quilt is going along nicely. I probably have about another 2 hours of hand quilting to do and then I can get the binding done. My hope is that I'll have it finished to enter it in my local show in 3.5 weeks. Should have plenty of time between now and then to get it done!

Hot July Greetings from Finland

Lately I have seen here many, many beautiful TIS blocks
and already
so many finished TIS quilts...
You are amazing, my Stitching Friends!
So I would like to show you my progress.

Although it's all too HOT and it's uncomfortable to hold needle with sweaty fingers...

... I 'struggled' and both of July blocks are finished;)

... and all my blocks photographed together;)))

SO
I'm ready - August!
See you then;)
- with greetings Satu -

July blocks

Finally dredged up a little mojo to add the borders to July's blocks. Hopefully the mojo will stay a while so i can finish other things. :)
Happy Stitching,

9 Blocks for my second quilt

At the Friday Night Sew In I worked on my second quilt for 'Tis the Season.  Unfortunately, I ran out of the variegated thread I'm using, so luckily, The Gardener's Journal Blocks were on hand.  Progress so far:

I love the background for this one.  Fabric from Homespun and Beautiful.  I think it adds so much interest, but it's still background.

Completed blocks for my second quilt - hoping they stand out a little more with borders.  Haven't even looked at fabric for this yet - have to raid my stash.  Hoping to get some time this week.

Work in progress on The Gardener's Journal Quilt.  The two blocks in the middle of the photo have been completed.

The centre block from the quilt.  This is another part of my work for the Friday Night Sew In.

Some progress - just very slow!!

It's A Top...

After living with the sewn blocks pinned up on the wall for a couple of weeks, waiting for what to do about borders to come to me, my TTS is now a top...
I added a 1/2" inner border to bring the gold into the borders, break up the busyness of the two fabrics and eliminate the prospect of blo blending into the Next decision will be what colour thread to use for quilting...will have to live with the top for a while until it makes a decision on what it should be...

Getting closer...

Only one month to go...and how quickly has this year gone?

Here are my blocks for July...

I was feeling a little sad that it will soon be all over...BUT cheered myself up by ordering Some Kind of Wonderful, the beautiful new Stitch-a-Long project book! I have the perfect stack of fat quarters sitting on my desk, all ready to make a start when Chooky says the word... how exciting!

So...who's in for the next one?
